i had to tune out once i got to work this morning but please tell me they corrected Hampton asserstion that many football players have enlarged hearts because "essentially the heart is a muscle" and like any other muscle if it is wokred out it will get larger. loved the guy as a player but he is a tough listen and this statment further proved it

So how do you go about working out your heart, to build it's muscle mass?

Enlarged Hearts would be a good name for a band.

Gaines Adams Enlarged Hearts Club Band?

By the way, I hear the words Lung Function on TV commercials all the time, and I thought that would be a cool band name too. Lung Function.

i would assume that there can't be any truth to it because otherwise we would have many professional athletes with heart problems actually it woulnd't have to be professional athletes, could be anyone that goes to the gym a few times a week according to hampton, i didn't get to hear the rest i was wondering if either mulli or hanley followed up on this

I bet hearing the news that having an enlarged heart can kill you scared the hell out of the Grinch and made him regret returning the presents.

well an athlete certainly works out the heart through exercise, and a heart is a muscle, so i would think a healthy athletes heart WOULD be stronger than a typical person. does it get bigger though? i dont think what he said sounds crazy to me, but im no cardiologist.

I know Hamps stuttering and analogic (word? lol) way of speaking might not impress many, but I watched a whole Super Bowl with the guy (#48) and he is actually a pretty smart guy. Plays a ton of instruments, like 6 or 7 I remember him telling me.

Just to add, it was Super Bowl party at PJ Clarkes, Sony, CBS and ABt sponsored it to roll out some new HD Sony TV's and they were suppossed to give away invites to the party and none of the did. A friend works at CBS called my buddy he invited me and we went to the party which had about 25 peopple, with food for 300! and Hamp was the VIP guest!

Hamp sat in our section most of the game and hung out with us.

They did give away a 56 HDTV! I had a 1 in 25 shot. The girl sitting next to me, whose mom bought a new Dishwasher that morning at ABT and got the invitem she got the 2 tickets and decided to show up, yeah she won.
