If you're making a mix tape for a signifcant other, what are you going with for your track 1?

I might go with "Let's Fall in Love" by Frank Sinatra.

Any one of "our" songs, which number in the dozens. These also make excellent lead tracks to a mix:

Kindred, the Family Soul, "Stars"

The Delegation, "Oh, Honey"

The Clean, "Anything Could Happen"

Depending on the "mood" of the mix, I've started some of my favorite/best mixes with the following:

"January Rain" - David Gray
"On Your Own" - Blur
"Tears of a Clown" - Smokey Robinson
"Touch of Grey" - Grateful Dead
"Lucky Denver Mint" - Jimmy Eat World
"For Mom" - Buckethead

What is the appeal of this song? It sounds like the lyrics were written by a kid in 6th grade. Rock and Roll music is supposed to be about clever innuendos, this just had Bon Scott spinning in his grave.

I used to be a fan of Buckcherry back in the day, but when this song became the white trash anthem a few years back, they lost me.

(End Rant)

With that being said, I guess Track 1 would be Need You Around by Smoking Popes but really only because I heard it on the ipod this morning. I think I would have to do more research before offering my official choice.

I've given it a couple listens. It's not bad. I would be open to listening to more stuff from their catalog. "She's so High" is a pretty good track.

I know your talking about Blur but in the future you should make that clear.

You dont want people thinking you like the version by Canadian singer-songwriter Tal Bachman

DB- Do you have the Clueless soundtrack? Its good. WAR World Party's version of "All the Young Dudes"

My track 1 in this situation would be Slide Away by Oasis

No, I don't have the Clueless Soundtrack. Just checked out the track listing....not bad. Big ups for them including Coolio.
