List any positive attributes you have for Boers.

Wow, our radios are broadcasting two different Terry Boers then. Listen to him try and explain something when he doesn't have the luxury of just parroting something his savior, Bernstein, says. He talks himself in circles, repeats himself, and sounds like a dope.

Because you have to actually attend events to have an opinion on things, right?

This would be a different discussion, but short answer is: yes. This isn't the same as giving an opinion on Wall St. or the future of medical treatments. Sports are far different in person, and even a casual fan is able to observe far more in person at a sporting event than watching on TV or reading another person's account.

And he's supposed to be more than just a casual fan like you and me.

This is just wrong. I watched the Bears every week and attended one home game. Everything I saw at that one home game confirmed everything I believed about the Bears from watching them on TV.

Certain sports are better live(baseball, hockey) than on TV. But you don't need to attend a live sporting event to have an intelligent thought on the matter.

You should probably send an email or letter to all of the major TV networks, radio stations, websites, etc. that send all of their staff and reporters to cover live events then. You could save them millions of dollars, literally.

He might be the smartest person on sports radio, that's not saying much, but you guys make him out to be albert freaking einstein.

I do not recall anyone making him out to be an einstein, I think just about everyone thinks of him as being the most intelligent radio guy in Chicago and that is how he is talked about. I think you are going over the top here a bit.

Are we talking about overall intelligence, or sports intelligence. If it's the latter, unless things drastically changed in the last 18 months, he's no smarter than Dickerson, Silvy, Waddle, or DeFalco.

I havent listened since Summer of 08, but he never came across as all that smart. I disagree with him often when I heard him talk on the radio, and his arguments are scarcely very convincing. He definitely fundamentally understands the game of basketball, but his NBA thoughts overall are very subpar, especially from someone who actually know the game as well as he does.

I would argue that the smartest guy on the radio is Rosenbloom.

Or Bernstein. Which is why I enjoy when those two work together.

And I do agree with spanky's assessment of Harry. I've met Harry once. Very nice guy, but I did sense that social butterfly aspect.

Mac Jurko and Harry had a great show.

I agree. Harry was tolerable with them 2 around.

I've stated several times how bad I think Terry is. From 2006-2008 I listened to B&B on average 4-5 hours a week. I thought Terry tied Harry in the most unlistenable, bad radio host. I disagree with RFDC that Terry + other people = good show. I think he might be ok with Mac, I never listened to the HFC though, so I dont know. I've listened to him + LoHo and that was just about the worst radio segment I have ever listened to.
