Time to check out Waddle and Silvy...I automatically ptfb when Kerry Sayers cliche ridden and overly shrill updates are broadcast but there is no escaping her today as she sits in with Mac...other than going down the aisle only to return when the atmosphere is Kerry free.

She seems to be doing alright so far. What's with the Sayers hate? I think some guys just don't like chicks talking sports...

I could understand the hate if she couldn't keep up with the topic, but not only can she she do that...she offers her own take.

I'll hang around...as the saying goes for something different in sports radio "Wait for a cold day in Feb"...well, that's what we got.

I agree oriole. Now she is dispensing life advice. Very compelling radio. Hello MVP...where they may actually be talking the old sportseroo.

Let her butcher updates (cue extended befuddled pause) and leave it at that.

The only thing I don't like is when she intentionally or unintentionally (I think it's the former...) says things like "head bobbing" or "facial" and Mac and Spiegs start getting all giggly because a girl said "facial."

Other than that I think she does a good job. Simply not being Laurence is a point (or several) in her favor.

Yes, bot not being Goff is a point against her.

I've criticized her on her updates in the past. But I must admit, she's doing a very solid job filling in for Spiegs. Been a pleasant listen today

She seemed a tad queasy at the beginning. I believe this is her virgin voyage behind the mic for an entire show. She is rounding out nicely as we approach the 13th hole of the show. Kudos to Mac for choosing a female fill in. I have not heard a female sports talker since WSCR had a couple of sportscasters do a couple of shows several years ago. This is much better. It hasn't been perfect but is definitely serviceable. In future please use Sayers over Loho, Wolfe, Grote, Rodewald or Morrissey (if any of these guys would even be options).

Sorry I'm missing this. Guy or Girl, who cares? Of course there are those who will break apart every sentence she spurts and rip her for it. I'm sure she can do a fine job. How about the "regulars" making hundreds of thousands BUT could not give you analysis on the NBA,because "They don't like it".??

I agree completely. As alluded to in other posts, it started out rough, but it has really been cleaned up.

Flight miles do pay off.

Why do sea-gulls fly over the sea?

Because if they flew over the bay they would be bagels.

Agreed.

IMO today's show is a bad listen, because I don't care to hear (ad nauseaum) about Seabrook's abilities to put a puck on the tape from 60'. Or how this isn't a basketball town, or how pointless the spring training will be in two weeks. Not because Kerry Sayers is aboard offering nothing.

These shows (from Bears Asst., to bad Bull basketball to the repetitively teaching the masses about hockey...whether it's wanted or not) this week all pretty much blow. I miss even the bad interviews @ the Super Bowl.

Even the ones with oddities like Bill Bidwill

Two(three?) years ago  it wasn't this bad. But, damn it's been miserable for me since the college football regular season ended.

It wasn't bad. She sounds a lot more comfortable chatting in a normal conversational tone as opposed to reading bad copy. I'll pile in on the "Better than LoHo" thought.

I was surprised to be honest with you, Apologist. I thought I heard Mac say John "Moon" Mullin from CSNChicago.com would pinch hit for Spiegs instead of Kerry during transition with Bernsy & the Daily Herald's Barry Rozner yesterday. That said, I thought Sayers was good as Mac's co-host today.
