Very interesting that they would hire Cotto for the afternoon job and then move him to mornings within a few weeks.

WLS isn't even on my radar ever since Garry left, and Roe became Rush Jr.

The Mike Patrick-looking Pat Cassidy, Mancow's co-host on his Chicago-based midday show, was also let go today from "The Big 89" WLS-AM. The veteran newsman turned talk show host never seemed to find his footing at WLS, but I was reading today that Cassidy could possibly reunite with Felicia Middlebrooks on WBBM Newsradio 780 in the morning. Although John Hultman technically came out of retirement to join Felicia on WBBM, bosses of the CBS Radio-owned all-news and Bears' flagship have always kept the seat warm for the 40-year Chicago radio veteran to possibly return. Folks, it could happen.

Of course it could. Hultman's already made it clear that he wants to return to retirement.

Slightly OT: I note that WCBS has an identical format to WBBM-AM. But the talent's nowhere near what Chicago has (which surprises me.)

Not much to report on WFAN yet. I've only listened to two shows, and they seem to be shorter with a single host. One guy (JoeB) seems to do soliloquies. I was thinking "Memolo!" Another guy was saturated by callers wanting snow boarding to be recognized as a sport. To which I say, why is this being argued?

John Hultman gave way to Ken Herrera. I alway thought it was a mistake to bump Herrera to middays with David Roe (though they had good chemistry). Bring Herrera back, and put Pat Cassidy in the old folks' home.
