Teams began to frequently call the Bulls about Tyrus Thomas' availability following his blow-up with Vinny Del Negro.

Chicago is determined to deal Thomas and are looking for expiring contracts and a 2010 or future first-round draft pick, league sources told Yahoo! Sports.

The Bulls are also exploring ways to package Thomas with Kirk Hinrich.

Charlotte has offered Acie Law, Flip Murray and their 2010 first-round pick, a league executive said.

Portland has offered Steve Blake or Travis Outlaw, who are both expirings, along with two second round picks

Plus second round picks are non-guaranteed $$, so I would consider that deal. Only because the Bulls are going all in on the 2010 Plan, allegedly.

I would make both trades. At this point it really doesn't matter what you get back. Getting them off the books is the most important thing. Looks like those teams are willing to overpay.

It will only temporarily quiet down. Once the fallout from the trade deadline is determined, we still have another 3 or 4 months to speculate on the future of James and Wade, not to mention any other soon to be free agents (Bosh, Joe Johnson, Lee, maybe Stoudemire, etc) who remained with their current teams.

Plus, we'll finally know where teams like the Bulls stand in terms of salary cap room for the off-season against the likely cap, although not in all cases since some players have options to stay where they are (Salmons in Chicago).

I am hearing rumors that Iggy is being shopped by the 76ers. Would you move for him at 14M a year through 2013? I might consider it.

If you move Deng for Iggy, and then sign one max guy in the off season, that would make for a pretty good roster next season. That deal will never happen though.
