The above Yahoo rumor indicates that the T-wolves will be looking to trade Jefferson in the summer. Why? If so - would he be a good fit on the Bulls?

Not sure why the Wolves would trade Jefferson. I know Love has been good but he doesn't provide the same low post scoring and shot blocking. That would be a mistake IMO.

Yeah, I'm still trying to figure out why they would trade Jefferson. Doesn't make any sense, unless they are dramatically trying to cut salary.

Jefferson is getting 13M a year until 2013. It would be a mistake but it would be a pure salary dump. Adding on, you can get by with a guy like Tyrus who can play 3/4 if you got Love underneath.

There's been talk that Love and Jefferson can't play together.

So it is now only 2 days until the deadline, and their has been zero talk about the Bulls making a deal over the past few days. Do any of you guys think anything is going to happen? Im starting to get a little worried that the Bulls aren't going to get anything done.

Any deal that brings Ray Allen or T-Mac's expiring contract here I would like. Let's hope Gar-Pax can get something done.

I'd be very surprised if anything other than a minor Tyrus deal got done.

I am going out on a limb and predict it will be a 2011 Number 1

I'm very worried that they aren't going to be able to sign Wade or Bosh (outside of James, the targets of this strategy), and be forced to fight other teams for Joe Johnson, Rudy Gay (restricted free agent), David Lee, Carlos Boozer, etc.

The Kirk Hinrich rumors continue to be out there, it appears the Lakers may be his most likely spot, but that's hardly a certainty to happen, and I'd be shocked if Tyrus Thomas isn't dealt, considering how many teams supposedly are interested.

I don't think Salmons will be traded, the only chance of that is probably too a small market team looking for an extra scorer at a fixed cost, but the problem is that quite a few teams are losing money so are they really going to take on an oversized (1 year deal) for a guy who has struggled most of the season? Probably wishful thinking.

They need two full boats to offer. Right now, they have one (that may be assuming Thomas is gone). My biggest fear is that Paxson gets cold feet on what he's hearing, and decides not to move Hinrich because he doesn't like his chances of getting 2 free agents this summer. If he doesn't make a move to clear the cap space by Thursday's deadline, this may be ultra-conservative Paxson settling to keep Hinrich and try to land one free agent rather than go for broke with the strategy that was the goal from the beginning of this.

ESPN has it in their rumor section that the Bucks are interested in Salmons and Tyrus.

I agree. There is no way Scott Skiles would want Tyrus anywhere near that team. Unless he is on the outs in Milwaukee...

Marc Stein is reporting that T-Mac will be traded Wednesday to either the Buills or Knicks.

This trade wouldn't be for now - it's for next year and you can get Kirk's 9M off the books.

Sounds like the Rockets are leaning to the Knicks offer at the present time. Looks like their offer is a swap of first rounders in 2011, first rounder in 2012, Jared Jeffries (who will be signed past 2010), Larry Hughes (is he just traded to teams to be trade bait later on?) and Jordan Hill

I think it's really important the Bulls get this deal done. If the Knicks are able to make this move, I think it puts them in a position to sign two max guys, which makes them a much more appealing destination for any of the big 2010 free agents.

Supposedly the Rockets aren't big on Heinrich or Salmons I heard the Bulls were trying to get a 3rd team involved

Damn, this puts the Bulls GM brain-trust in such a tough position, because they can jockey around contracts left and right, putting them in a position to land one of the big FAs, but what if they're left holding the bag at the end? Are the Bulls that attractive of a team to entice a big-name player? I'm hoping against hope that they can get one, if not two of the coveted players, but I'd feel alot more comfortable if they can work a trade and sign 'em right away...

I am just worried they end up making the trade for T-Mac and he turns it on in hopes of getting a contract then the big name free agents....James/Wade/Bosh/Johnson et al turn the Bulls down and they end up signing T-Mac as a desperation move. That would be horrible.

Per a buddy of mine in the know, looks like McGrady is heading to NYC.

Probably the most likely scenario. The salary outlay the Rockets would need to make into next year is lower than the Kirk deal. (not by much, but a little bit like 1-1.5M).

Curious, why are the Rockets so willing to trade McGrady? Why not just let him sit out and get his deal off the books next year and sign someone?
