Wonder if North blames his wife for worst career move ever in local broadcasting. Was there something as dumb that anyone can remember? I think one of the fat morning hosts at wgn-720 (Spike O'Dell) walked away from a million but that was because he retired.

Besides, I've heard talk about "Pappy" possibly signing on at this proposed third sports talk radio station that was mentioned yesterday, supposedly if the White Sox say goodbye to 670 The SCORE after this season. Mike North wants to get back into radio...Stand in line with the other million dollar talkers who've lost their jobs in this economy!

Just another North failure. This one failed on the first day!!
The list of failures is sure growing, hopefully, he leaves town after this one.

North = washed up has-been.

It wouldn't matter if he did, it would be exaggerated or completely false, just like the "record" he tried to claim on the Don't Fade Me train wreck.

The bottom-of-the-barrel ratings are great news, but as much as I'd like to join in the North-bashing, why bother? When this finally ends, one of the other worthless turds that run a Chicago radio or TV station will just give him another shot. After the Score, Webio, Dontfademe, the CD, the book, Monsters on Comcast, I had my hopes up that we'd seen the last of North. I'm not setting myself up for another disappointment.

If you watched Chicago Tonight when Sirott interviewed O'Dell, Spike literally said he was going to sign one renewal and then retire. Not sure why so many people gave him crap for that. WGN had years to find a replacement.

For all the bullshit surrounding it, Nort, and his rusted broken lock looking teeth, is the weakest link. If you actually want to give it unbias feedback, this type of show could succeed if they got rid of the moron, and installed a dress code so everybody looked a little bit professional. Srsly, would you take any advice from some unkept blowhard who looks like he got kicked out of the morning McDonalds group that litters in every golden arch around the world?

The whole cluttered table top looks revolting, why would anybody listen to a bunch of un organized ppl?

Clean up the show, get rid of Nort, and focus on money and sports, it could work.

Believe it or not, Steve Dahl has also been mentioned as a potential new host on the proposed FM sports talk radio station if the White Sox say bye-bye to The SCORE after this season...His deal with CBS Radio expires in 2011.

I really can't believe this show is still on the air. I wonder how long the hosts contracts are & if they are guaranteed?
As for a new FM sports radio station in Chicago, I hope it happens. They could pattern themselves after the Score in the early 1990's & could damn near hire all of the original WSCR hosts!
Seriously though, there would be plenty of sports radio guys lined up for gigs on a new sports station. With the tremendous growth in the sports radio format, & cities like St. Louis with 4 all sports radio stations, & Albuquerque with 3, Chicago can certainly support 3 sports radio stations.
