I don't care where he ends up or who comes back, just glad to see them clearing room.

Reportedly, Johnny Damon's wife will not allow him to come to Chicago unless John Salmons is traded. That is why the Bulls have asked him to stay in the hotel.

From ESPN.com:

The Chicago Bulls are holding guard John Salmons out of Wednesday’s game at New York in anticipation of a trade, ESPN.com has learned.

Salmons’ destination could not be immediately confirmed, but the Bulls have made the decision to pull Salmons out of the game against the Knicks because he is going to be traded before Thursday’s 3 p.m. trading deadline.

Any team willing to take on Salmons has to pay him $5.8 million next season.

The Bulls have been trying to force teams interested in Tyrus Thomas to include Salmons in the deal or include him as part of a package for Houston’s Tracy McGrady.

This means they don't have to trade Kirk. My guess is the Bucks. They were interested in Salmons and Tyrus.

Maybe, but then why wouldn't Tyrus sit out, too?

Maybe they settled on Salmons? It's not a bad move for them and Salmons doesn't have a terrible contract.

I am guessing Bucks too - the Bucks will be players next year when they have of expiring contracts. Too bad for them it will be a year late.

To make the money work, it's likely the Bulls would want to take back Kurt Thomas, Carlos Delfino (who is signed for 2 more years but at 1.1M/year), Frederico Elson Thomas and Elson are expiring.

I have heard speculation that it's either Milwaukee or Orlando.

If they trade him for an expiring deal, do the Bulls only have room for 1 max guy or are we nearing two?

Why isn't this on the front page?

Janergo Pargo wants out of Chicago. Bulls will try and trade him.

Guaranteed 1. If they can move Kirk too then they would be guaranteed 2.

Better have a first rounder involved since you have to keep about 3M on the books per year until 2011 at the shortest.

I hope that they aren't done with trying to acquire the room for a 2nd max deal. Hinrich is a nice player, but this team needs a major influx of talent, and they need his salary to improve next year's roster. I hope they aren't settling.

How good is Arthur, anyone know? Isn't he sort of a similar player to Tyrus Thomas or am I wrong?

Amare to Miami is dead. Memphis has 3 first round picks this year and could give one to the Bulls. Bulls send Tyrus and 2 first rounders for Amare?

Less ability on the court. He was a product of the run on young guys who were athletic in their freshman year in college.

Twitter from David Aldridge :

Not finalized, but two sources say Bulls and Bucks may be closing in on deal sending Salmons to MKE for Kurt Thomas, Francisco Elson

Both have expiring deals - Kurt Thomas at 3.8 million and Francisco Ellison 1.7 million....

Salmons to Milwaukee?

TNT's David Aldridge has more on the John Salmons saga. Sources say the Bulls' swingman could be headed to the Bucks in a deal that's close to being completed.
HANG TIME HEADQUARTERS -- A league source tells TNT's David Aldridge that the Chicago Bulls are close to a deal to send swingman John Salmons to the Milwaukee Bucks for forward Kurt Thomas and center Francisco Elson.

The move would bring back two expiring contracts to the Bulls in exchange for Salmons, who has one year (a player option) remaining, at more than $5 million. This would allow the Bulls to pursue a max-level free agent this summer, the team's goal throughout this season.

The Bucks would get a starter in Salmons at small forward for the rest of this season and next, without sacrificing cap room for the summer of 2011, when the Bucks plan to be active in free agency.

Trading Salmons alone also signals Chicago is likely out of the running for Houston's Tracy McGrady, as Salmons was supposed to be part of that deal.

Why wouldn't the Bulls be able to get McGrady? They should be in a better position now because they aren't trying to dump a guy that has a $5M to $9M salary for next season. The Knicks are trying to dump $6M on them.

He still has 2 years on a deal - not overpaid (like 1.2 M per year) but the point is to get rid of the salary.

well right...but you have to have someone play for you, you can't dump everyone and you're right on both counts; just saying he's a terrible player

They still have the MLE and can sign as many minimum guys as they want. They won't have a problem putting together a team.
