I've watched a little bit of Bulls pre-season and seen some highlights. Thomas is gonna win defensive player of the year within the next few years. He's long, quick, and athletic. He'll develope into a good offensive player too. I'm glad we picked him now. He's got a good shot at rookie of the year. At first I thought he wouldn't get the minutes. But Skiles loves defense and Thomas will earn 30 minutes a game before the season gets to old.

He's not going to get 30 minutes, but I like what I've seen so far as well. He needs to get his game under control a bit, but that's to be expected at his age.

I'm always amazed at guys who look to be of decent size (not height) in college are always small in the NBA.

You know he will work hard and play D, which is a good starting point for a player on a skiles team.

Based upon some of Skiles comments, he isn't going to bring him along at a fast pace - I believe he'll break him in slowly, try put him in with favorable matchups, maybe 10-15 minutes a night early in the year until Skiles is comfortable with his play - I'm hoping that in the 2nd half, he can help keep Wallace/Brown minutes down....I'd like to see Wallace get about 35 minutes a night, and Brown no more than 25.

I have only seen highlights, but both Sefolosha and Thomas look like they have exactly the kind of length and athleticism the Bulls needed.

Fun to watch, but a little raw, a tad out of control so far

Definitely a bit out of control. Hopefully they can solidfy somewhat in the next week and a half. Still, this team is suddenly much more athletic and deeper.

I'll say by game 35 he'll be getting 30 minutes a game. He can split time at the 3 and the 4. He's a good rebounder. Yes he is raw offensivley. But he'll get alot of hustle points, run outs, easy dunks off double teams and I think he's got a decent 15 footer.

Bulls that will eat minutes at the 3 and/or the 4:

Allen, Malik
Brown, PJ
Deng, Luol
Griffin, Adrian
Khryapa, Viktor
Nocioni, Andres
Sweetney, Michael
Thomas, Tyrus

He's not getting 30 minutes in 2006.

Like I said it won't come out to an average of 30 minutes because in the first couple of months he'll have alot of 10, 15, and 20 minute games. But by game 35 or so he'll be getting a consistant 30 because he will have learned and Skiles won't be able to keep him off the court.

Sweetney isn't playing much in the preseason. I don't think he's going to be eating many minutes in the regular season, though he'll be eating lots of other stuff, to be sure.

Skiles didn’t play Sweetney consistently last year, and I don’t expect him to this year either. There are certain times when Sweets provides them some matchup value, but more often than not he will be riding the pine.

I'm pretty surprised Paxson and Skiles brought Sweetney back for another season. The guy is still huge and I'm sure that fact eats away at Skiles.

They don't have to depend on him much this year though....against a bigger team like Miami with Shaq, they can at least him his big body there for 6 fouls. The rest of his playing time he'll have to earn as he's probably in Skiles doghouse, and there are so many decent role players off the bench on the Bulls.

No, I was going into the archives to check and see if I ever said I wanted the Bulls to draft Hakim Warrick. But I ran across this and I couldn't let it pass.

Beardown wears thin on me...

Although Beardown in those days was a decent poster. If you look at a lot of his older stuff, its none of the crackpot theories and "Bernstein hates white people" stuff.

I hear ya. I used to like beardown back in those days when I was beneath the surface, now not so much. Shit just gets old and lame IMO.

beardown is menstrual waste, you idiots are the ones talking like hes human. tyrus is the used rag, basically just as worthless. disposable, if you will. as shown. i just seen on the news the IRS made someone mad enough that the dude flew a plane into their offices. i would put that about on par with tyrus thomas's contract and/or beardown as vaginal discardment.
