He's been playing very well of late. I wonder if he's the long term guy if this Summer free agent bonanza doesnt pan out for a power forward. He hasnt shown much of an ability to score with his back to the basket. For now he's more or less a garbage man. Something T. Thomas could have been great at.

He is a decent piece to the future championship lineup. While everyone seems to be up in arms about having the room to get to max contract guys, those teams that can do such have little else to offer. Once you get those 2 guys you still have to build a team. The Bulls already have one franchise player in rose and a solid mid level guy in noah and the rest of the pieces including kirk. If the bulls traded him and were able to get 2 max guys they would still need a kirk like player to complete the team and then they wouldnt be able to sign him. They are in good shape and Taj is an important piece.

I agree. I like Kirk. I think he plays well with Rose and he could guard the two guard on any team pretty well.

Taj and Hakim are interchangeable in my book. Taj is better on the glass and Warrick will give you a bit more scoring punch.

Taj is a nice 7th man on a contending team.

If I have the choice of keeping Kirk or signing 2 max guys I'm going to take the 2 max guys 10 out of 10 times. I love Kirk but that is an easy call to make. Hustle guys are a lot easier to find than franchise players.

going to slightly disagree here...While I agree with your assessment in general, Taj is far more consistent and reliable than Warrick...that's been Warrick's problem- similar to Tyrus. And Stromile Swift. and countless others. flashes of greatness followed by a night of 2-8 shooting with 3 rebounds....Taj is solid at the line, agreed not as good of a scorer as Warrick but still not terrible. and he's reliable, not going to take any nights off like Warrick will

i'd take Taj over Warrick anyday

+1 on all accounts. Also, I cant believe people actually want to keep Kirk considering his salary. Then again, guys like MITC dont think he's overpaid at all.

A year ago when the discussion revolved around getting rid of Hinrich for a bag of balls (to clear up cap space amongst other things), I remember you having a "slightly" different view. ;)

I love Kirk but I do agree. Not for his contract. Gibson has improved as much as just about any rookie I've seen in a long time. As in from nothing to something.
