"Pardon the Interruption", but I'm not Tony Kornheiser. For those wondering where the Washington Post columnist and co-host of "PTI" is, ESPN suspended the multimedia personality for his critique of fellow ESPNer, "SportsCenter" anchor Hannah Storm. The suspension stems from something Kornheiser said on his local radio show on Washington's WTEM SportsRadio about Hannah's outfit on the Bristol, CT set of the "Worldwide Leader's" signature sports news show.

"Hannah Storm in a horrifying, horrifying outfit," Kornheiser said on the ESPN Radio affiliate there, ESPN Radio 980. "She's got on red go-go boots and a Catholic plaid skirt...way too short for somebody in her 40s. She's got on her typically very, very tight shirt." While Kornheiser has since apologized both on air and privately to Storm for her attire, what may have gotten "Mr. Tony" in big trouble with his ESPN bosses may have been a shot at longtime ESPNer Chris Berman. Chris has claimed in NutriSystem commercials to have lost 50 pounds, but Tony may have mimicked "Boomer's" trademark "gained the weight back, back, back" prompting the suspension from ESPN bossman Norby Williamson.

Another veteran sports scribe and sports radio host, Miami's Dan LeBatard, sat in for "Mr. Tony" on "PTI" yesterday.

I think Shark saw the first thread. He said, "Screw you, I'm getting my I'm not Tony Kornheiser bit in!"

Yep.....The Mouse is a bit finicky. Good thing he (meaning Mickey) wasn't at the B&B Roast.

As Mac said, that Roast would've never happened at ESPN.

Well, I happen to agree with Mr. Tony. She's 47 years old and she dresses like a teenager. We ladies just have to accept that past a certain age we do NOT dress like that for WORK. It doesn't matter that she's thin enough to pull of the look, she's too damn old to attempt it. I've bitched every Sunday morning about her appearance since she started on Sportscenter. She thinks she's still doing Olympic coverage with Jim Lampley in whatever fuck that year was....92?

While I have enjoyed Dan Lebatard's filling in on PTI (BAM! ) I didn't know why he was there until tonight.

Here's the NY Post  article: http://www.facebook.com/l.php?u=http%25 ... 821&ref=nf

For them to even compare this to Steve Phillips' "actions" is reprehensible at best. All hail the mothership, indeed!

And yeah, I'm posting this in both threads! Long live Mr. Tony....screw ESPN!

Phil, when Tony Kornheiser's radio show used to air on ESPN Radio nationally about a decade ago, that's what many of Tony's friends and colleagues referred to the host. Honest.

Get at it HH :). And that I completely agree with you doesn't hurt. Every time I see her, the little remaining credibility I thought she had gets squeezed out.

I would love to hear the clip, but YouTube is blocking the sound on the videos.

Michael Wilbon, Tony's partner on "PTI" and with the Washington Post, was a guest this morning on "The Dan Patrick Show". Wilbon seemed to be taken aback by Kornheiser getting suspended for his criticism of Hannah Storm's attire and didn't seem to know what was affiliated, let alone never experiencing the culture of Bristol, CT. The interview is on 670thescore.com in the Podspot section, as well as DanPatrick.com if you wish to hear Wilbon's take on the controversy.

it's the red. If the boots and top were black it would have been better.

She's cute and can pull it off. She can't wear old lady suits or you guys would be complaining about how there should be somebody younger on TV. She is in a no win situation here.

Why hasn't someone taped the berman profanity laced tirade about tony making fun of his so called weight loss? I'm sure there was one.

Actually, LoHo played the audio of Kornheiser's rant yesterday from WTEM during his "People's Hour" about 24 hours ago...I don't know if it's still there, but deadspin.com has been all over the story...
