I cant watch and I wouldnt anyway. But when they were on Comcast, I'd check from time to time to see if the show had changed or improved because they realized it sucked. It never did. Since North probably doesnt have control and the show from what I hear sucks, has anyone grabbed this production and changed the obviously bad? I live near WISC border so we dont Chicago 2 here.

Its probably doing worse. Their numbers were probably inflated initially due to the train wreck watchers. They are all gone now.

Shouldn't the question really be--

Why is it still on the air?

The answer to why is "CBS 2 is convinced that it can beat Andy Griffith reruns and infomercials at 5 in the morning, and anything else they put on can't"

-benny hinn ministries
-dead guy infomercials
-indian bollywood movies
-car 54 where r u reruns
-in fact, any rerun of any tv show ever produced
-picture of fireplace with log burning and fire sound effects

I caught a little bit of it this morning. Not as bad as I thought it would be. The scatterbrain format with the countdown clock seems a bit unnecessary. I didn't get the true feel of the show though, since Susan Carlson was in for Terry Savage. She didn't have much of a chance to say much. I fell back asleep after about 30 minutes.

In sampling just a small taste when it first debuted, I thought "Monsters & Money in the Morning" was a ripoff of CNBC's "Squawk Box", especially with the roundtable and the cameras always moving.

I guess everyone missed last week when Mancow was on. Mike North looked like he had a fellow compatriot as Mancow bitched about management & Mike smirked and shook his head alot.

Wasn't Mancow fired?
North, Mancow and the whole bunch of Hooterville "Shock Jocks" are realizing the World moves on without them and their special "talents"?

He was funny. He came out in a DUNKIN DONUTS apron and served coffee. He sat down talking about his dismissal. North kept doing this weird thing like he was wiping something off his sleeves the whole interview. His way of saying "what management does to me is no big deal,I can wipe it right off". He was really enjoying the Mancow interview.

Bob-

Excuse my ignorance, but where did the term "Hooterville" come from? Is it just your thing?

Hooterville was a fictional town that was the setting of the American television sitcoms Petticoat Junction and Green Acres

Jeff, Jimmy has The Green Acres and Petticoat Junction connection correct....This place may be the most provincial sports town on the planet...McNeil has called Chicago a hick town with skyscrapers in regard to sports loyalties.....I agree.......This is one big HOOTERVILLE!!!!!
"Bears Weather" and "Bears Football" and the approach of WGN Radio could never work anywhere but here.

Behind him is a dimension warp from the Stargate shows?

Only thing good about Petticoat Junction was the steam train that appeared. I understand it was borrowed from a museum to do the shots, and is still kept in running order today.

(Oh, and the Douglases would make cameos. They were funnier than the regulars on the show)

Ironically, the Dean Martin Show infomercials would be much more entertaining.

Watched a bit this morning. Other than a quick comment about not wanting anyone to touch his weiner, North stays surprisingly quiet.
