The Cardinals announced today that Anquan Boldin is on the market & available. Somehow the Bears need to figure out a way to get him, although I would much rather get Marshall.
Would the Bears think about trading either Forte or Olsen for Boldin? Perhaps, but the Cards drafted Beanie Wells last year & they don't throw to the TE very much. Urlacher is another trade possibility but the Cards are pretty well set at LB too.
Would the Bears consider signing T.O. or Thomas Jones?

No way Lovie is going to let any of his treasured defensive "stars" be traded.

If they sign Manumaleuna, hopefully Olsen gets traded. Im ready to label him another first round failure. I'll take Desmond over Olsen any day.

How about offering our first and second round picks this year for Boldin?
Never mind!

Yeah way too injury prone with that broken face he had. I mean that something that happens all the time. I understand that the hammy was an issue, but shit like that happens. If you have to trade next years number one to make this happen, than you do it. He is one of the top ten WR in the game.

People have sure soured on Boldin quickly. Not too long ago most people really wanted him in a Bear uniform.

I would not trade a high pick or a valuable player for a soon to be 30 year old player that has played 1 full season in the last 6 years. Then you also have to turn around and give him a big deal. Doesn't make sense.

I'd rather have TO for basically nothing.

How about it? 6 months ago he was a must have at almost any cost. What's changed Hova? I'd still take him if they can get him cheap.

No way on TO.

They really are getting the band back together. I'm not sure on Manumaleuna. Didn't angelo say blocking tes are overrated?

whats Arizona gonna want for him and then how much $$$ is he gonna want? this could be like Muhsin pt 2 where he comes in and wants to be #1 receiver and #1 money but actually performs like a #2 or 3 OR he could come out and have really good on field chemistry with Cutler and pull out 1000 yards and 10-12 TD's if he plays 16 gms. He's still a good receiver and is worth a look depending on what its gonna cost

He got a year older and he continues to have leg injuries. He really isn't worth trading for now. In hindsight it would have been a mistake to trade a #1 for him last year.

Why trade value for the right to pay a 30 year old injury prone guy $10M+?

Anquan Boldin = D.Boston

No to T.O.

Yes to Antonio Bryant (wr) http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?playerId=3591

UFA, young, cheap and has huge upside.

Last year everyone wanted A.Boldin because we confused J.Cutler for P.Manning and only had D.Hester at WR with any "experience." He was nothing more then a meathead fantasy team dream pickup.

i'm not saying to do it. in fact if you're going to do something like that, you want to make sure he *is* a #1 receiver.

Maybe Tampa can give that 2nd round pick back, and the Bears can trade that for Boldin.

Golden Tate will probably be on the board when Tampa makes that pick. That really sucks.

I'm not a fan of Tate's. I know some compare him to Hines Ward but I see him as being too slow and fat to be effective. He has a small beer belly without NFL money. No doubt in my mind that will continue to grow.

Just ran a 4.36. He's a project as a reciever but he'll be good on special teams and third down right away.

Don't the Bears already have the same sort of project in Hester/Knox? I rather take someone who can play their position right away instead of training them to play a different position or scheme. I do not really trust Lovie and his staff to do that sort of thing and I don't know if the Bears need another piece that will have a hard time fitting into the crazy scheme of Martz right away.

That's what I was thinking. They really don't have a lot of options, but I don't want anymore fast #3 slot guys....

Well what I gave is the general scouting report but I believe he'll be much better. I think he ends up a very good #2 reciever. I also believe he'll be as good as any current Bear WR by the end of next year.

I was just looking at guys they could have gotten with that #2 pick and his name jumped out.

Golden Tate will have a great NFL career in my opinion. He is underrated because people thought it was all Jimmy Clausen at Notre Dame. I don't know if he'll be that good but I'd expect him to be a player like the Panthers Steve Smith.

If he ends up as a #2 he'll still be as good as most teams #1 receivers.
