Those bands blew. Might be stepping out on your general category a little. I bring you one well before quality videos were made.

alright...this is the greatest cheesiest 80s video of all time.
and you don't even have to watch the whole thing.

start at 3:08 and go until 3:35.

it's really all you need to see to sum up the genre.

Back in the day, real rock stars bypassed the boring stand on a fixed stage routine--they jumped on an empty fuckin' semi bed and rocked it out along city streets the way it was meant to be!

My love for this song is not ironic.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8UyWHdXb_CY

At least 4 solid riffs, great performance all around, and the video ain't bad either.

shirtless...this is a serious sick riff. vivian cambell's solo is quite tasty as well...

a little SHARK for ya, the best guitar player to walk this planet (imo) played in this band.

Vivian Campbell left Whitesnake in late 1988 due to creative differences, and so the band's line-up changed yet again for the 1989 album Slip of the Tongue. While preparing for the recording of the album, guitarist Adrian Vandenberg reportedly suffered a debilitating hand injury and Steve Vai was called in to record all the guitar parts.

I wasn't being ironic before, but my ten-minute search unfortunately put me behind Doug's post.

To better illustrate my Dokken (George Lynch) point, check out this LIVE Philadelphia show circa '87. Particularly the opening riffs and the soloing starting around 3:10 in.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tNjaN_89VW8

Just try to ignore Don Dokken's drunken singing if at all possible...

Time to bump this great thread.

And I will do so by dedicating this one to my hair band friend, spaulding:

OK, enough with the Cockrockers for a moment. I enjoyed that era too and miss Headbanger's Ball immensely. :( I looked forward to it on Saturday nights when I was a loser and all the other "cool people" were out doing who knows what.

Megadeth's "Holy Wars" made me want to get all crazy and shit...or at least play the drums.

Plus a pre kicked in the ass by life and drugs, high heel shoe wielding Tawny Kitaen.

Saw them open for Motley on the Girls tour at Alpine Valley. Excellent show, plus Tommy's crazy 360 drum solo!

The rise of the Hair Bands coincided with the acceleration of the decline of the US as a nation. The Hair Bands fucking blow.
