The place I hang out at in Arlington has one, no one ever puts money into it. They usually use the shuffle feature when there isn't a game on. If a local game (or important national game, not you Cavs-Lakers Thursday night type game) is on, you get the audio from the game.

Totally agree! One of those rare albums you can put on and not hit the skip button once. Unfortunately, not many like that anymore. I can pull it off with Slayer's World Painted Blood, but sometimes I get real close.

gallery cabaret has one, real time sports has one, i know the huettenbar has one...i think most bars i've been in have a jukebox.

any place that has a pool table, video games, dart board, or 11 year old girls celebrating a birthday party, is out.

As far as a good juke box selection goes. There was this place in San Diego that had mostly old punk and rockabilly stuff, but they also had a few cool oddities mixed in. I would always play "gay bar" by the electric six and "dick in dixie" by hank III.

In Chattanooga there was some redneck sports bar that had just gotten that juke box where its connected to a service and you can play virtually any song ever recorded. They forgot to block the explicit lyrics/ content songs so I played a nice 6 song set of Eazy E and 2pac for the afternoon crowd.

i'm fairly certain the huettenbar and cabaret don't have 11 year olds celebrating a birthday...and i don't think they have those other things, either.

I cannot believe that Meatloaf's "Paradise By The Dashboard Light" was not listed. Anytime someone plays that I immediately feel like sticking a pencil in an eye, whether it be mine or somebody else's.

Who plays it? Douchebags that think it's a good song and want to get their money's worth.

I can't stand the new "Internet Jukeboxes" you see everywhere now. You only get to choose from like 1-2 songs per album, and if you want any rare deep cuts, you have to pay double.

Two bad things happen because of this:
1. You hear the same bad hits over and over.
2. Some jackass goes way too obscure and searches for some weird shit, and you are stuck with bad "whatever" for the next 30 minutes.

I remember playing The Killers the last few times I used a jukebox, and I'm definitely not a hipster or emo. As a matter of fact, I remember it getting people up, dancing, and having a great time. What's wrong with that?

Am I the only one that strongly prefers Beck's more recent stuff to his '90's stuff? I never could get into him (no matter how much my guy Jon Spencer wanted me to) in the '90's. I don't listen to any of his CD's as a whole, but more current singles like "I think I'm in love" and "Gamma Ray" appeal to me more than donkey noises, bad sampling and such.
