Where did all those super-elite WINNER coaches end up? Where's Gruden? Where's Billick? Where's Cowher?

Of the group, only Shanahan was hired as a coach in Washington, an organization not renowned for its prudence and wisdom. Holmgren got some head office position, which is hilarious because he was a complete and utter disaster when he had the reins in Seattle.

So the Bears could have dropped a dozen mill on coaches and not gone after any free agents. I'm sure Brian Billick would work wonders with that kind of roster.

Jay Glazer: For the record I really do NOT see the panthers pursuing vick at all. Delhomme's release not related to anything with Vick.

STFU

I know you like Lovie & think the Bears will win 10 games next year, but you gotta put down the orange & blue kool-aid & be objective.

From Profootballtalk

Antrel Rolle got a head start on free agency and is taking full advantage.

The latest: Rolle is expected to visit with the Giants Friday morning, assuming he doesn't sign a contract before then. Omar Kelly of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel writes that Rolle was offered a five-year contract by the Dolphins.

Chris Mortensen is hearing that the Rolle sweepstakes will come down to the Giants and Dolphins. (Even though the Bears were negotiating first.)

League source just texted that Chester Taylor has an offer for a significant chunk of guaranteed money from unknown team. Stay tuned.

That has nothing to do with it. The players will follow the $..........why do I even bother anymore?

Money being equal, the Bears mess matters. I think a few free agents will play the Bears like a drum & sign elsewhere.

Why do I continue to fall for agents feeding bullshit to the press?

Real optimism brewing at Halas Hall right now. Free agency opens in 10 minutes and Bears believe they will land Julius Peppers.

It's all about money, but if it's even it might depend on where a player wants to live. That's it. Nothing to do with how the team finished last year. Bears aren't thought of less than the Giants or Dolphins or any team, really. That's crap.

I'm tired now but I'll go to bed at 11:30 with Les on. I'll be asleep at 11:40. Bears should know this and have everything done by then.

I'm outlining for class so I have ESPN open. I don't know why I care, as there's a decent chance I won't be able to watch a single Bears game next year.

All I'm saying is that the uncertainty surrounding the Bears, which certainly affected their ability to recruit coaches, can't help their player recruiting efforts either.
