Some of you guys just amaze me. In the big picture I would probably have rather had Rolle and Kampman, but I am glad they are making moves to get better. Peppers makes you better, there is no way around that. Your team just signed the guy most experts considered the #1 free agent available and yet you still bitch and complain. They signed a quality RB to go with Forte and they signed a pretty good TE to help with blocking. All of those things are good. Stop bitching for a few mins.

Couldn't agree more.

Can't remember where I read this, but I remember Chester Taylor saying he had no problem playing with Adrian Peterson in the backfield. It struck me as as an odd comment at the time, but it makes sense now.

Pro Football Weekly/The SCORE's Hub Arkush questioned who approved these free agent deals by the Bears moments ago with "Boers & Bernstein". Keep in mind they've yet to announce, let alone replace V.P. of Player Personnel Bobby DePaul.

...and callers to Doug and OB this year still will call the Bears cheap.

They can't call the Bears cheap anymore. Anyone who things the Bears are frugal with their money anymore is kidding themselves, J & M. In a morbid kind of way, a texter to "Boers & Bernstein" suggested that the Bears trading a 2nd round pick to Tampa for the late Gaines Adams may have actually helped the Bears sign Julius Peppers on the first full day of NFL free agency. Seriously.

Given that the Bears gave up nothing but money that isn't coming from my bank account you can't really complain too much about these signings.

And here you are doing the same thing by bitching about us. Dude. This is what we do here. Handle it.

I loved the little tiff today between Bernstein and Zach, who thinks the Bears are not trying to trade Olsen. Bernstein told him he was wrong. No equivocation. Zach also said that Olsen is fast enough to play WR. Not in Martz's system, Bernstein contradicted him flatly. Left the Cheetoh-headed loon speechless, which is seldom a bad thing.

How good are Zach's sources—or how gullible is he—if he can't get an off-the-record confirmation of what the entire NFL knows the Bears will do next?

Zach is an embarrassment. You can tell Berns can't stand him. This clown has no business being the Bears reporter.

I actually felt bad for Zach today. He is in a no-win situation, taking checks from two spots. Even if that isn't exactly true, he still has loyalties to the Bears, and the truth.

This was a monumental day in Bears history, regardless of its success. As I said earlier today, I think I would rather have multiple players then Peppers. However, he IS a game changer. He could make every guy on the defense better just by being on the field. Call these moves desperation, call it what you want. This management team that I had zero faith in three days ago, at least had a plan. That cannot be argued. Now let's see what they do with these FA's.
