I am down to 194, but I am doing a solid lifting program so while I keep dropping fat, I am gaining some muscle.

I got on a scale last week and was down about 10 pounds overall. Hoping to be closer to 200 by the end of next week, and down to 190-195 by the end of March. But, I think either that scale is wrong or I've got some weight thats shifting because my pants are getting looser and looser.

Original weight -- 252.4
This morning -- 244.4

Total 8 lbs. I am coming to the realization that
I am going to lose the $50 that I put up, but I am
going to continue to stick with it. Been running
over 10 miles a week and lifting 4 times a week as
well. If I can continue to incorporate this into my
lifestyle permanently, $50 will be worth it. I'll try
to push hard the next 5-6 weeks and maybe get
to the mid 230s.

Hit a rough patch, but I'm back on it. Just got 3.2 miles in on the treadmill.

Nicely done. It's psychologically motivating to get under 200.

I'm down 6 since the start of Lent.

You're right GD.
That 199 was a nice start to the week.
I've made some nice strides during Lent as well.
Giving up sweets is having a bigger impact than I expected.

Damn it, I just want to see the scale read in the 230s. Maybe next week.

I've made little progress over the last week to 10 days. I need to get under 200 by the end of the month, which is a very reasonable goal.

 Nice work. Curious what you are doing or what appendages you are lopping off.

Some of you guys are doing really well, congrats.

I have stalled out and not been as motivated as I should be. But going to try and get back in the game today. Going to the gym and changing up the diet for the next month.

I've decided against doing any kind of a food diet this time, cause in the past I couldn't maintain the loss once I stopped dieting.
I've completely given up soda - not one in 2010.
I've maybe had a total of 10 alcoholic beverages since the superbowl
I'm eating the same as always, but literally running my ass off.
I'm up to 10k every time I step on the treadmill (4-5 times a week) - which is huge for me since I used to cough up a lung after 2 miles just 10 weeks ago. I'm even delusional enough to entertain the thoughts of entering some 5k & 10k's this spring.

I have one thing in common with Santo.
I did give up sweets for lent (which I don't plan on doing long term), and it really boosted the numbers. Since Ash Wednesday, I'm down 7 pounds.

Nice job. I guess I need to crank it up to more than a 5K a day.
I am doing a 10K in about 5 weeks so if I can do it, I am sure you
can. Finally starting to get the confidence that I will be able to
do it and actually post a decent time for me. I wish I was doing
better, but much like you I am not on a "diet", just trying to be
smarter with some portions and choices. I am lifting weights
about 4-5 times a week now which is way more than I have ever
done in my entire life so I am hoping that some of the reason
the weight is coming off slow is that I am building some muscle.
Still one more month to go. Really hoping to hit 235. Thanks for
the tips Rob.

rob, i'd recommend trying a 5k this summer. race running is a lot of fun and you'll usually meet a few other people and socialize...it's a nice event. i've met some cool people in the races i've run.

you'll notice the more you run the more you'll want to run. your body will adapt.

Downers/Lisle/Naperville area has a few 5K's starting in April.
I'm thinking of doing one or two just as a fun run before entering the competitive Indian Boundry run.
I'm thinking 30 minute 5K for a 39 year old is almost "competitive"
