Good Morning CSFMB! It’s Wednesday, and it’s time to settle up our 2010 1st quarter Former Gov. Rod R. Blagojevich Douchebag of the Year Semi-Finals. I can’t believe that we’re already one full quarter of the way thru our 2010 season! Well, you’re here to vote, not to read my crap, so here’s the list of your first quarter DBOTW winners. Please select 3 and the top 4 will advance to the Finals in December!

Week 1 Winner: HIV Positive Married man injects wife with his blood: Nominated by Degenerate Dave, this unnamed HIV positive married man from New Zealand injected his wife with his infected blood as she slept so that she would contract the disease, and sleep with him again. This guy is one sick puppy from all accounts and descriptions of the situation, so if you think this doofus has a shot at being the week’s biggest douchebag you just gotta vote for him.

Week 2 Winner: Elmhurst Steve: The Brand may lead the league in overall nominations for Douchebag of the Week. This time, he was nominated by Jack Bauer for his most recent thoughts on law enforcement, constitutional law, and the harassment of average citizens who are mindful of their constitutional rights. The Brand is a complete and total attention whore, coming here to make an absolute fool of himself regularly simply so he can have some form of attention, so we here at the DBOTW take what he says with a grain of salt as there’s always a strong possibility that Steve says what he does because he enjoys looking like a foolish jackass. But, wouldn’t that make him a douchebag? You got to vote!

Week 3 Winner: Crittenton and Arenas: Seacrest nominated these Wizards teammates for pulling guns on each other in the locker room on Christmas Eve. I’m not sure what would bring a couple guys to this point in the locker room, or what those weapons were doing there in the locker room to begin with but it happened, and here they are. Are these guys douchebags? Vote!

Week 4 Winner: Sis in law: RodeoVann strikes again at the sister in law. She’s large, offensive, shamuey, plus sized and has an insatiable appetite for shrimp, meat, and drama. For whatever reason, Vann doesn’t like being with her. And once again, she proves to be annoying. Vann probably thinks that she should be nominated every week, and she may very well provide enough material to support those future nominations. What do you think, CSFMB?

Week 5 Winner: My Roommate: W_Z’s roommate stuck them with a past due cable bill again. Even though Z’s been paying this guy for the cable bill, the dumbass didn’t pay it. So Z got stuck with it. That calls for retaliation in my opinion. Fart on his pillow. Jizz on his toothbrush. Swap out his splenda for sugar. Fuck his girlfriend, you know something. Right. So if you think this bozo is a douchebag, vote here!

Week 6 Winner: All American Basketball Association: Ugueth Will Shiv You has nominated the AABA for creating basically and “All White” league. They don’t want crotch grabbing, guns, dunks or flipping off during games. So, they make the announcement on MLK day that they’re going to exclude that type of “street-ball”. This thread is full of Elmhurst Steve racism jokes, and is well worth a click. I’m willing to wager that the AABA has a shot at taking the title this quarter.

Week 7 Winner: McGwire: Tears. Sniffling. Chicken neck. Brian’s Mojito nominated Big Mac for his lousy performance on the MLB network and for taking a shitload of steroids. I think there might have been a general agreement that he’s lost a great deal of his Q rating lately, but is that enough to call him a douchebag? Does he stand amongst the ranks of Rod and Balloon Boy’s Dad? You must decide, does he advance to the quarterfinals? Vote!

Week 8 Winner: RF/Facebook Member Ralph Francis: a dual nod this week for our anonymous Facebook Friend, one from spmack and one from Eaglo Jeff. We’ve all gotten his friend requests, but no one knows who the heck he is. Why won’t he answer? What’s with that photo? Why does he post about daily soaps? Is this man…. Evil? This is yet more fuel to Spaulding’s HATRED of facebook posts. Dudes, if I go missing, check where Spaulding was. She’s probably trying to kill me right now

Week 9 Winner: Mike North: Mike North didn’t really have a good week. The ratings were bad, his teeth were bad, the show was bad. His comments were bad. North called Savage a cougar. All this caused Puckhead to go ahead and fire off a Douchebag of the Week nomination. North is no stranger to the Douchebag of the week but I don’t think he’s ever advanced to the quarterfinals. Is this his lucky day?

Week 10 Winner: The Original Kid Cairo: Rogers from Park Bryan nominated me for some nonsensical reason. Apparently he thinks I tried to circumvent the DOTW’s democratic process by nominating Irish Boy for no reason. Good Dolphin piled on and said my IkeSouth love is unfounded. And Frank Coztansa had the balls to accuse me of multing on this here board. Me? Multing? Whatever man. But, if you think I’m a douchebag, gimme yo votes.

Week 11 Winner: The Brand Elmhurst Steve (shouldn’t be surprising): What a surprise. A shit stirring post from spmack. I never thought I would see the day that he’s starting shit on the board too! Weird! Anyhow, Steve was douchebagged for calling out Bruce Levine for asking Frank Thomas about the need to bring more Blacks into baseball. This thread however, appears to have inspired a new mult, and we all know how much we needed that. Elmhurst Steve's douchebagginess shines thru in this thread though, and it's always worthy to read something he says because he's like a psychology experiment or something. Always some kind of mania to pick up from his ravings

Week 12 Winner: Jenny McCarthy: KDdidit nominated Jenny for her long standing claim that vaccinations have led to her child’s autism and has basically been an anti vaccination crusader. Well, it turns out the kid isn’t autistic. Oh and now she might thing that vaccinations aren’t so bad. More research is needed. Sounds like KD might be onto something. Is Jenny a douchebag for her 180 on the issue?

Week 13 Winner: The population of Erwin, TN (on 9-13-1916): Don Tiny stumbled upon the story of a town that actually hanged an elephant. Can you believe that? They hung an elephant because it stepped on someone who wasn’t treating her right. It’s amazing that they used their creativity to figure out how to hang the elephant instead of using their creativity to figure out how to rehabilitate the damn thing. So do the dumbass citizens of Erwin meet with your approval?

There’s your Winners, Chicago. Pick the top 3 douchebags, and the top 4 advance to the finals in December. Thanks for voting!

They're eligible for Week 14 from what I gather.

Why the hell not? You don't want to see the award changed to the "Elmhurst Steve *Trademark* The Brand Douchebag of the Year Award"?

How am I tied with Elmhurst Steve? I'm only racist in the privacy of my own house. I never bring my bigoted thoughts on the board with me. The Jews must be responsible for this shit.

Looks like Steve is on the top of the leaderboard.
Was it his lame call into Mac today, where he thinks that being entertaining (to Steve) is more important that winning a championship?

At least TRY to be accurate about what was said. I stated that I would hate to see the Hawks lose Adam Burish, because as much as winning a Championship is always the biggest priority, the fact is, that happens very seldom. So I also want players that provide great entertainment. Burish's style of hitting anything that moves, his tremendous energy on the ice and willingness to engage in fights, all make him a very entertaining player. I never said that ANYTHING was more important than winning a Championship. That is always the #1 priority.

I like my description of your call better. Did I add that he basically shared the wisdom that not every team wins a championship every year?

Which is why, when you have players that do things to make athletic performances enjoyable, it's important to keep those players. That way even if you do not win a championship, you can still enjoy the season to a large degree. The Colorado Rockies never won anything (championships)when they had Andres Gallaraga, Larry Walker and Vinny Castilla starring for them. But it was a fun team to watch. They gave their fans a lot of highlights and were worth the price of admission. I want my teams to win Championships first and foremost. But if they fall short of that goal, I hope that they will at least be highly entertaining.

Those Rockies teams weren't all that fun to watch. They had no pitching staff, but I am the type that I would rather watch a pitchers duel than some roid infested shootout

Well, the owners/Commissioner didn't let the roid age go as long as they did, because they just didn't care. They let it go, because it made the game far more popular and brought the fans back. The 11-8 games are far more entertaining to the masses. Pedro vs Clemens was great in the day too. But Bonds vs Sammy or Sammy vs Big Mac drew more fans. But yes, the pitching on those Rockie's teams was awful. thats why they almost had to score in double digets each night to have a chance to win.

when the saints had the #1 offense and a horrendous defense, i was hardly saying "yeah they're an entertaining team all right!"

that's not entertaining, it's agonizing. if burish costs the blackhawks something because of his over the top stupidity at a crucial moment, is it worth the "entertainment" he brought?
