Arbitron PPMs Say Chicago Bears Are #1

Arbitron's newest division, Arbitron Sports, released its very first comprehensive report entitled, "The Arbitron Sports Report: PPM Listening for Pro Football." The extensive report covers in game, play-by-play estimates for this past 2009-2010 NFL season and includes 25 teams in 23 markets featuring commercialized PPM service.

Among the highlights of this report, it shows that the #1 NFL team nationwide in average audience share is none other than the Chicago Bears. The "Monsters of the Midway" were also "monsters" in average ratings, with their average game audience at 626,600 listeners. No other NFL team was even close. The next runners up were the New York Giants with 457,000 average listeners per game, followed by the Philadelphia Eagles with 422,400 average listeners.

The article is blocked for me at work, but I"m guessing the conclusion of the article is that this is the largest undivided metropolitan center in the country that has a team? No big surprise.
