So pappy is making a big deal out of the Mayors office calling him in to help out or as he put “save” the sports and schools, yes he said it. I guess he is claiming that he came up with the idea of corporate sponsorship for the schools sports teams, so therefore, sophomore sports wouldn’t have to be canceled. He claimed he would PAY for it…well, Anyway, pappy’s “paying” for it is putting up $5000.00, using the city’s connections with the corporations they have ties with and then having him sit on some board helping oversee it.

Think about it, Pappy is claiming he has all these connections with these fortune 500 companies, but yet, none take any time out on his shows? I know he thinks he reinvented the wheel and invented radio, but seriously, doesn't someone in his shrinking inner circle ever tell him to just shut up and be happy you are even a thought?

This isn't a ground breaking idea, Texas has been doing it for years, Wisconsin has done it, Indiana has done it, shit, who knows how many states has done it, but for him to call this "his groundbreaking idea" is a fricken insult to the ones who came up with it a long time ago.

So I don’t forget, kudos to pappy for putting up 5k, that’s a good thing, but don’t make that 5k out to be what he is making it out to be, a bail out pappy style to save the schools.

Lets just say that 4aley puts pappy in charge of this...a high school drop out with the iq of a lemon, that would explain why the school system is in the condition it is.

Yeah, that douchebag stepped up when few if any others did.

His show sucks, he's a walking carnival barker ... but at least give him a teensy weensy bit of credit for doing something.

seacrest, my point is that on his show he is claiming he came up with the idea, he didnt, he is telling people the sponsers are ones he got, not true and confirmed, he is saying this has never been done before and he came up with the idea, it has and he didnt.

standing O for the 5k, no doubt, my issue is he is twisting this into a pappy vision its not, its common, thats all.

Maybe he didn't come up with this idea completely on his own, but I know for a fact he came up with the idea for a global internet "radio station" that broadcasts only to a local market. And he also invented the +100 unit measurement that is catching on in the handicapping circuit. And he also invented the "bookie math" where vig does not exist, and losing three bets and winning two equally priced bets is actually "+100 units." Also, I think he invented the "old shoe with giardiniera" sandwich which is gaining popularity quickly throughout the Appalachians.

and North is the first one to stand up and tell anyone who will listen that he donated 5K. He is such a charitable SOB. Just ask him. I wonder how much he gave to the "retards" (his words...not mine) this year.

North sucks!

Vann, thank you for watching so we don't have to!

BTW I miss old Barry White "Oh baby bring it on" Arby's commercials. If it is possible to make love to a roast beef sammich, Barry pulled it off.

And makes sure we know about it. Now personally, I see it for what it is, but it affects this guys newsworthiness and no doubt affects his Q ratings. Which fools Program Directors into thinking this guy is... relevant (sorry, degenD.)

On the other hand, $5K is $5K, and it all helps.

this is a small sampling of pappy's thoughts and ideas. Why anyone would put this moron in charge of anything to do with public education is beyond me. he is a hustler and con man. listen to him for 5 minutes and you can tell he is now acting like rush limbaugh. hey pappy, mancow called and said stop stealing his act(which was copying howard stern and then rush limbaugh)

he put up the 5K to milk the hell out of it for publicity. what the moron should have done is went to all his so-called corporate friends and raised at least 100K and then come out and brag as much as you want about saving cps sports. the 5k he is giving is the same as him taking out a full page news ad patting himself on the back.

stern would tar and feather pappy in a debate. my point is stern broke radio taboo barriers while pappy, like manblow, copied him.
Plus pappy thinks he is a superstar when he is a broken-down waste of sperm at this point of his career.

There really isn't much on at 5am. So, I watched almost a whole hour of this show this morning due to my battles with insomnia. It's a tough show to watch.

But, here was my favorite moment. When talking about how newspapers can make money on the internet, Terry Savage reports that 82% of people would find another website for news if the one they were using charged a subscription. Everyone, except Savage, were up in arms that newspapers don't charge money for internet content (which would be insanity). Anyway, the Mike North thoughts -

1. Standard opening, "I've been sayin' dis for years" and the New York Times is doin' something like this now. But, he said that the Sun Times, Tribune and Daily Herald should all get together and agree that they will charge people for content. North would not be a good antitrust lawyer. But, that aside, Pappy - you might also want to include Fox, NBC, ABC, CBS, WGN, various radio outlets, and every other online provider of local news. I'm sure they'd all want to be involved in your impending lawsuit for collusion.

2. "I met with Mel Karmazin years ago and he told me 'we haven't figured out this online thing yet on how to make money'. I told him 'we figured it out already' and I'm tellin' you it's subscription. You have to get individuals to subscribe." End of discussion. When did Pappy figure out how to monetize the internet? PappyWear?

this is why I can't stand the m-f-er. he claims to know something when in reality it his just his opinion. and when people give him a good argument challenging his view, he just talks louder, as if that proves his point.

Face the reality...this is the only town in America where this guy can remain on the radar screen....the same town that would have newspaper articles about Kerry Wood if he decides to play baseball in Japan or Cricket in India.

Remember when he used to claim the economy was fine because they're building hotels in Vegas? I'm guessing his little property venture out there ranks just below WEBIO in terms of bad financial decisions these days.

his financial decisions the past couple years read like a horror novel:

turned down $800k/yr to return to score - might be exagerated but I thought this was the amount reported

dontfademe.com - I'm sure he sunk some cash into this bomb

chicagosportswebio.com - "radio is dead. radio is a horse and buggy. the internet is a jet rocket. I'm glad i came up with the idea of having sports talk on the internet. " --our fearless leader who FORGOT to do a background check on his sugardaady and installed his wife in a key financial position. WWTSS (what would terry savage say) Also forgot to invoice and collect money from the few advertisers that were dumb enough to buy into mike nort i.e. david spada

monsters in the morning - "hey, everyone loved it when me and jiggs were on the air. it will be tv magic when we pair up again and instead of taking a salary, i will own the show and sell my own advertising and clean up" SEE ABOVE

Monsters and money in the morning - "this is great, everyone is up at 5am and wants my opinion on money and sports. the executives her at CBS2 are genius for stealing jiggs and i from comcast. plus that terry savage is one hot cougar"

Yeah, I'd say nort is on a roll. look out world.
