He learned almost too late that man is a feeling creature... and because of it, the greatest in the universe. He learned too late for himself that men have to find their own way, to make their own mistakes. There can't be any gift of perfection from outside ourselves. And when men seek such perfection... they find only death... fire... loss... disillusionment... the end of everything that's gone forward. Men have always sought an end to the toil and misery, but it can't be given, it has to be achieved. There is hope, but it has to come from inside, from Man himself.

Although I remember him as a pilot in the screwball comedy "Airplane!", Peter Graves also replaced a young Steven Hill after the first season of "Mission: IMPOSSIBLE" in 1967 through its conclusion in 1971. One of the signature scenes in every classic episode had to do with the secret recording and that "if you or any member of your IM force are caught or killed, the Secretary will disavow any knowledge of your actions..."

Ever since seeing AIRPLANE,everytime I hear anybody ask "Any further questions?",first thought I have is "Ever seen a grown man naked?". I have Peter Graves to thank for that. BTW,when I was a kid,I thought he was Race Bannon (my avatar) come to life.
