OK...so I figured out my sox fan-neighbor's MO. Just don't pay me year after year on our Cubs vs. Sox - win total, and keep going double or nothing until he gets back to even.

So this year, he suggested we go double or nothing again on which team has the most victories at the end of the year. I talked up his Sox pitching staff, and the fact he has not paid me in 2 years....and required him to give me 5 games.

Sooo...I have the Cubs & 5 games. Good bet? Bad bet? If I win this year...he is paying. I'll either be even or up $400.

Go Cubs!

Your bet is a winning one. The Sox decision to go with a "Punch & Judy" line-up will get them killed in their own ballpark. People want to call me a meatball, but let's check the Home record after a few months.

Good pitching tend to win out over good hitting. At least that is what I'm told. Is there a stat to proove that? Anyway...the Sox have 4 solid and above starters and they play Kansas City about 100 times a season....so they could stack up some victories.

The Cubs should all be trying to make up for last season...so hopefully they play better & win more.

Probably a good bet, most of the projections I have seen have both teams in the low 80's for wins.

Good Pitching/No Hitting means you can lose 2-1 a lot more.

I would have made him pay up or threatened to fertilize his lawn...
