Soriano is unable to pass the Mendoza line?

Rameriz is traded?

Lee is traded?

Zambrano 20 wins?

Predict the story.

puckhead will whine about the Cubs at least once a week during the season although he has told us time and time again that he is giving up.

As the season goes on...the biggest story surrounding the Cubs will be Lou P. and whether or not he manages again next year. Along with that, you will have the Sandberg "waiting in the wings" BS.

I'm not saying this will be, or should be, the most important story for the Cubs in 2010...but it will become the most talked about topic.

Biggest Story: Soriano still has 5 years left on his contract (puts gun to head)

   You guys are killin' me :( I'm hoping that Cubdom can finally celebrate the successful development of some of the young talent out of the farm system and we actually have something to look forward to in our perceived gloomy future

Agreed. And if Lou isn't retained after the season, is it Sandberg or do the Cubs back up the money truck to the Girardi household?

Story number 2 is Starlin Castro is on the big club around Memorial Day and we find out if the Cubs can actually develop a position player.

...but seriously, it's gonna be the Lou coming back story or will Big Z get 20 wins.

The former isn't a big story and the latter won't happen.

i hope the story is that the cubs get off to a great start and never look back all the way to a division title and beyond. if it doesnt happen that way, i hope they cut their losses and try to put some effort into dealing some of their more valuable pieces for young talent, instead of being fooled into thinking they can contend and trying to acquire more guys at the deadline as they are slipping down the standings. a lot of this is based on how they start the season, but i have a bad feeling about this year.

Wrong and Correct. :D

It'll be the Lou/Ryno stuff and the focus of calling up young players like Castro/Ca$hner/Carpenter etc.

I'm strongly considering better the under at whatever total Vegas sets at for wins for this team

Unfortunately, as I said before they brought in Piniella, Girardi was their guy. Not sure if anything will bring him here at this point, but I'd most definitely rather be talking about Girardi's contract extension right now instead of the job being handed to the unproven Ryno when Piniella leaves after the season...

The Rickett's will be the story of the year.

-Rickett bobbleheads
-First pitches
-Naming rights (Family Jewels Park)
-Rickett's taking a shit on the new toilets
-Billions of Rickett's camera time between pitches
-T.V. host talking about the Rickett's every dam game
-How the players respond to the Rickett's
-Year one (with the Rickett's)

The biggest story is when Pinella finally snaps and has a Lee Elia type rant.

The terrible bullpen that will not be able to get the job done well enough. It will cost them too many games, to be able to compete. Marmol may do his job well enough, but far too many games will be blown before the game ever gets to the closer.
