As the season goes on...the biggest story surrounding the Cubs will be Lou P. and whether or not he manages again next year. Along with that, you will have the Sandberg "waiting in the wings" BS.

I'm not saying this will be, or should be, the most important story for the Cubs in 2010...but it will become the most talked about topic.

i hope the story is that the cubs get off to a great start and never look back all the way to a division title and beyond. if it doesnt happen that way, i hope they cut their losses and try to put some effort into dealing some of their more valuable pieces for young talent, instead of being fooled into thinking they can contend and trying to acquire more guys at the deadline as they are slipping down the standings. a lot of this is based on how they start the season, but i have a bad feeling about this year.

I'm strongly considering better the under at whatever total Vegas sets at for wins for this team

Unfortunately, as I said before they brought in Piniella, Girardi was their guy. Not sure if anything will bring him here at this point, but I'd most definitely rather be talking about Girardi's contract extension right now instead of the job being handed to the unproven Ryno when Piniella leaves after the season...

The terrible bullpen that will not be able to get the job done well enough. It will cost them too many games, to be able to compete. Marmol may do his job well enough, but far too many games will be blown before the game ever gets to the closer.
