I don't know why you guys trash on Spada as much as you do. So he bought Pappy's doing reads calling David "My Guy!" I assure you, if not David, someone else would have bought those reads. Do you people trash the "Little Guys"? The early advertisers were the beginning of 'believe in his own pub' monster North became... But I don't blame the advertisers.

(Actually the Flagstone read on B&B is more irritating, and Terry's drops being thrown into the reads doesn't mock the place enough. I say, give that guy abuse...)

Cool. I don't know Spada enough to say I don't like him as a person. (I never said that by the way). I do not like his show, I do not like his posts, and I don't like what I perceive to be his self important attitude. He could be a good guy, but I can't really tell. I work with a lot of attorneys and have done so for over 10 years now. Some are cool, others are complete douchebags, just like everyone else in life. I wasn't letting any sort of bias dictate how I feel about his dumb ass posts.

It's a message board. He posts what he likes and people are allowed to comment as they like. If I happened to meet him, I would shake his hand like I would anyone else....

If anyone jumps on Spada, it's probably because he's just self promoting. I have no problem with self promotion, provided you do it correctly.
You don't self promote on a site that you do not contribute to.
You don't self promote by grabbing someone's else's microphone and using someone elses crowd to sell your crap.

I think that if Spada contributed more than to just spam us with his shows, he'd be better received.
That being said, I've got no problem with the guy. I think he's hilarious.

By contribute, I mean post something here besides his show links. Douchebag someone, give us your Bears, Cubs, Sox, Bulls or Hawks thoughts. Get involved in a thread in Gen discussion. He's just using this site as a billboard for his show and while it's not exactly spamming, it's close. I think that's why he gets ripped like he does, cause here, he's just a spammer. I don't think he's a bad guy, everyone I know who's met him liked him so that's cool. Sounds like he gets good guests.

Well said, DS. If he contributed to the board more than for show promotion, he would not get the responses he does. I don't see anything wrong with a guy who likes sports and has carved an outlet to do his thing.

I have no problem with David. I respect that the guy wants to do something with his life besides be a lawyer. He seems to have a passion for sports and celebs.

I think what Darkside said rings true about contributing other thoughts to the board (although I'm sure the guy is pretty busy).

I think people also wouldn't be so pissed if he didn't refer to himself in the third person and maybe created one thread only dedicated to promoting his show, like a certain show that begins with "The" and ends with "Stuff".

Darko, he does contribute actual sports thoughts to the board. Just not often.

Probably is tired of being blasted for "my guy!!!" spots North did for him years ago. As if Spada is the enabler that allowed North to become the raging asswipe many of us think he is (I'd say "all", but I'm hedging for a dissenting vote somewhere.)

If I want to disparage North, I won't do it through proxies. If you don't like Spada's podcast show, that's good too.
