Why does it suck? I always enjoy watching them play on turkey day!

Unless it comes after a bye, the sunday to thursday turnaround is rough on the team. Add the travel to big D instead of little D and its even worse.

Yeah that traveling to Dallas in those nice big comfortable planes is just brutal

I hear ya man, that sleeping or playing cards on a 3-4 hour plane ride is just awful. They should never have to play any teams outside of the NFC North ever again.

They should just play the game over Madden 2011 to avoid this situation.

I like sitting with the family and casually watching the games I don't care about on TD. I help with dinner and the kids. I don't want to have conversations while watching Jay Cutler lead the team to victory. I don't want to miss a minute of him and all his glory. I like sitting in my seat on my couch watching the games on my tv on Sundays at Noon. I don't want them to wear any funky jerseys either. I like the Navy with white pants.

Can't you have dinner either early or late that day so you can watch your man play without distractions?

So now I'm suppose to talk my crazy aunt into switching her plans that she has not strayed from in about 15 years for 35 people to accomodate me. You wanna give it a shot?

God and George Halas wanted the Bears to play on Sunday's at noon. Period. These Monday, Thursday, and Thanksgiving Day games throw my system out of whack.

Since I spend a lot of time chasing a 2 year old now, I've gotten into the habit this last season of DVRing the game and putting myself on complete media blackout until I can watch the game in the evening.

Looks like I'll do that on Thanksgiving this year.

Indeed. My wife may hear less complaining from me this year if I have something like this to
look forward to. I only hope it isn't the late game. That one can be tough to stay awake for.

Hester barely has enough time to break out the crayons on the flight to Detroit. I think he will appreciate the extra hour to Dallas.

or throwing 5 picks.

i'll be with a family of bears fans and one snooty packers fan, so it'll be good for us i think. table talk gets pretty old, since we talk throughout the cooking process. we usually just small talk through a listening of "alice's restaurant" playing in the background.

I'm generally too hungover from Balck Wednesday to give a shit about who is playing football on Thanksgiving.

You know what this means, don't you? Joe Buck, Troy Aikman & Pam Oliver will be there at the new Cowboys Stadium to watch the carnage, just like in 2004 between these 2 teams at Texas Stadium. Besides, Aikman in particular will use his weekly segment on The SCORE's "Mully & Hanley in the Morning Show" to rip the Bears, just like he did every week the FOX Sports' NFL analyst was on.

He was right to rip them. Thats the best broadcasting team in football youre talking about SHARK

Those 3 were there when Kurt Warner & the Cardinals smoked the Bears at Soldier Field, R.P. Bryan, as was that day in the Metrodome when Brett Favre and the Vikings beat the Bears like government mules...

Most players prefer to play on Thursdays. Easy practice all week and the following weekend off. This was covered several times last season.

I think part of the reason why the Bears are the lucky (or unlucky) choice has a lot to do with the other opponents. FOX Sports isn't dumb. They wouldn't want to feature a Cowboys' home game vs. high profile divisional opponents such as the Redskins, Giants or Eagles, let alone a team like the Super Bowl Champion Saints on such a traditional holiday as Thanksgiving. Besides, let CBS Sports' Jim Nantz & Phil Simms put America to sleep on Turkey Day with an AFC opponent in Detroit vs. a Lions' team likely planning for the 2011 NFL Draft by the time they play.
