im terrified of a matchup w/ the Magic right now for the Hawks....i like that they're 4th right now. they'd play a Bucks team in the 1st round and then the Cavs in the 2nd. I like how they matchup w/ the Cavs far better...at least their games have been close and if not for the refs cheating the Hawks in one of the games (the not resetting the shot clock incident) they would have won at cleveland. if they move to 3rd and have to play the Magic in the 2nd round they could get swept

A Bucks/Hawks series could be terrific.

Big win for the Hawks last night in OT.

Is it time to blow up the Spurs after this season? They appear to be done.

Yes it is. That's what I was telling Farvio a couple of months ago when we were talking Mavs vs. Spurs in the playoffs. Every team has a shelf-life. The Popovich/Duncan/Parker/Ginobili Spurs had a great run of nearly 10 years but clearly it's over.

Great game tonight between the Bucks and the Hawks. Looking forward to what could be a great 1st round matchup.

Grrr....yeah Marvin Williams got owned by Salmons

I don't like the bucks matchup for the Hawks just because despite their athletic front line they tend to struggle with teams with more traditional frontcourts (Bogut)...and like with Orlando and Howard. Kind of an odd game for the Bucks too, Jennings hardly played the 4th quarter and had a pretty rough game but they still won

You're both crazy. Big win for my guys in SA over the up and coming Thunder last night. Durant drops 45 and they still cant get past them. If they can get everyone healthy, watch out. Ginobli showed during the Hawks game how dangerous he can be when healthy. With Blair and Hill now becoming solid rotation players, their 8 man rotation will be as tough as any outside LA in the postseason. Plus Pops is still the best coach in the NBA.

i'm hoping they draw the Mavs in the first round :lol:
I agree w/ you FF...yeah they've been treading water but w/ Parker coming back...can't discount that
only thing is their schedule is brutal...they're gonna struggle just to hang on to a playoff seed

Yeah but I cant foresee Memphis or Houston making up that 5 games on them. They'll definitely get in. A 1-8 matchup with LA is very possible. That'd be a really intriguing 1-8 series.

LA Lakers
Cleveland
@Boston
@New Jersey
Houston
Orlando
@LA Lakers
@Sacramento
@Phoenix
Memphis
@Denver
Minnesota
@Dallas

that's ROUGH...i see only a few sure wins- NJ, Sac and Minnesota. Rest are gonna be tough games

Yeah that is pretty brutal but they can beat Houston and Memphis in that stretch, and should be favored being at home. If they can go 6-7 during that stretch, I think Memphis or Houston would have to go like 11-2 or 12-1 the rest of the way. Something like that. I'd be shocked if they missed the playoffs. But that is a tough ass schedule.

I do think SA is heading off into the sunset of that dynasty, but there is no way they don't make the playoffs this year.

I don't think they will seriously contend for title again with this core, and changes are going to have to be made. If you think they will beat any of the top teams in the west, you are mistaken.

how so?
we're talking about a 7 game series...yes their age has shown this year, they're on the decline and all that
but still having duncan, manu and parker in a 7 game series...you can't count them out
i think they could beat dallas or denver

I agree. I wouldnt have anyone other than LA in the West as a significant favorite.

Exactly. I definitely put LA on another tier but that's about it

Has Carrie been PM'ing you lately about Sam Mitchell being the next Bulls coach, FF? :lol:

Nope. I'm guessing she realized how retarded the premise was and retired from the board.

I'd have been disappointed if I checked this thread this morning and you hadn't mentioned that. That was an awesome last minute in that game. The Lakers/Spurs disappointed me, but it was fun watching my guy Rondo run shit, make Tony Allen actually look like he has game.

The Nets avoided the worst-record record and beat the Spurs last night. I still say the Spurs are done.

If San Antonio plays the Lakers in the first round of the playoffs with a healthy Bynum, the series will end in a sweep. Blow em up.

that's cool. wouldn't want you to base anything on 1 game or anything
based on that, I'm sure the Nets could give the Lakers a series

Don't underestimate Trenton Hassell and Keyon Dooling.

not giving up on the spurs yet
the big 3 are just taking time off ala shaq to get ready for the playoffs. at this point, I feel 1-8 in the west are pretty comparable. It's not like there's someone aside from the Lakers you really want to avoid. I mean if it ends up being Nuggets-Spurs in a 2-7 matchup, you're gonna tell me the Nuggest will dominate them? I doubt it. most of the matchups should be pretty close so seeding is not a big concern

I'll bet you my Stacey Augmon starting lineup figure that if the Spurs play the Lakers in the first round, it ends in a sweep.

The 2010 Spurs are what the Bulls would've been in 1999 had Jordan, Pippen, and Phil returned.

Bagels, you had to be happy with the game last night. A dejected
Kobe sitting on the bench makes me smile.
