Maybe it's just me but, I have come to loathe Bruce Wolf. He acts and sounds like a teenage girl. He is rarely funny, acts like a total hand-job, yet he is treated like some sort of sacred cow on Chicago air waves. If I were WSCR management, I'd kick his tired act to the curb. When he is on the air, like he is right now, I push the button as soon as I hear his voice.

I don't get it. He's terrible, not funny, and not all that bright about sports. He must have pictures of somebody.

Pictures or former agents who now are running station. It bugs me when there's more talent in the update guy pool than Wolf, Hampton, Koz... It also bugs me that if these guys are fill ins, why aren't they used on weekdays? (And then you can keep Larry at 6-10pm, building his audience.)

For some reason, I can see this happening to Spiegel.

He was good when he was with Bob Sirott doing the WFLD morning news.

I PTFB this morning when I heard him come on the air. I'm surprised I left the Pro Football Weekly guys on as long as I did only to shut it off when Bruce came on the air.

He doesn't take a breath, either. Just keeps on yammering and yammering. If he verbalized 1 out of every 4 or 5 thoughts that went through his mind he'd be more tolerable.

Holy crap! I wonder if he was able to get all that marker off his skin? That a pretty fucked thing up to do to somebody.

I knew I'm one of the few, but a thought Wolf was good the year or two he was with Dahl. He made a pretty good foil. Not as good as Garry, but better than anyone that's been with Dahl since. Out of curiosity, I listened to a Dahlcast the other day. My God. You can thank me for taking one for the team. A guy sitting in his basement just spewing random streams of conscienceness with no rhyme or reason, and some sycophant in the background cracking up at everything Steve says. Better than Ambien.

That would be Pete Zimmerman, long-time Dahl production assistant. Dahl is paying like 5-6 production people for no reason.

I'm a fan as well, but he doesn't work well on sports talk. His whole personna is to be the sports guy who makes fun of sports guys.

I am also a fan. Contrary to Dolphin, I have enjoyed his recent pairings with Mark Grote (sp?). Wolf's free-associating, multi-layered sarcasm provides much-needed relief to the dogmatic browbeating that takes place on so many other shows.

Bruce Wolf on WLS last week with Jesse Jackson was compelling radio!

Bruce Wolf on the Score just seems like just another failed bitter local broadcaster venting his spleen. To me his act is like that of a Lampoon writer who blew his one(?) shot at SNL (that he thinks he entitled to). He's more just the local version of Dennis Miller. He's bright, he clearly once was a fan of sports, but he seems joyless, humorless and is completely unable to exhibit any of his own personality in a (sports) long form.

His glory days ended when Patrick & Olbermann's show became a monopoly of sorts & Dahl's coattails no longer could carry his tired act around.

At one point, Bruce Wolf was funny, but he's become awfully rude in all the times 670 The SCORE has utilized him on the weekends. Bruce & the Chris Chelios-looking Mike Esposito are scheduled to talk sports Saturday 1-5p, according to the 670thescore.com schedule. By the way, IS BRUCE EVEN ON THE WSCR PAYROLL??? :?
