Another statue around to celebrate years of mediocrity. I'll be sure to hastily walk past it like I do with the Harry statue.

Billy Williams (until age caught up with him) was NEVER mediocre! That statue is about 15-20 years later then it should be,just like the Banks statue.

Even though Billy is way before my time, I am happy for him. He is one of the nicest pro athletes I have ever had the chance of meeting. He would come into the store I worked at a couple times a month when I worked retail back in the day. Would always chat with fans, or sign any autographs people requested. Just a regular down to Earth kind of guy, who never seemed to take anything for granted.

I think it would be neat to have a statue downtown with the greatest player ever on the 5 majors teams.

Okay it would be Ernie, Michael, Walter, Hull or Mikita the Sox fans can help me with who should be the Sox. Big Frank perhaps?

I always felt Billy was underrated. He sort of got overshadowed by Ernie, Ron and Fergie.
