The Rams released Marc Bulger today and I am for signing him to backup Cutler. I still get the shakes when thinking about Caleb Hainie taking snaps as the number 2 QB, much less if he had to come in and be the starter. But then again, people were championing for Hainie in pre-season '08 to be the starter.

Not too shabby. I'd do it, if they can get him fairly cheap.

From nfl.com:

In his career, Bulger has started 95 of 96 games and has a 41-54 career record as a starter, all with the Rams. He has completed 1,969 of 3,171 passes (62.1 completion percentage), for 22,814 yards, second most passing yards in franchise history. He has thrown for 122 touchdowns and 93 interceptions, with an 84.4 career passer rating.

I can't see him being cool with being a backup when teams oakland and san fran put garbage out there for starters.

Although I think the Bears should be look at other positions I think this would be good too. But after their offseason splurge I'm not too sure how realistic this move would be. The though of Hanie back there isn't very assuring though

He has been bad at football for the past 3 seasons. He signed his contract and then started going to work on the 1st and 15th with a gun and mask. No thanks.

If you had to drop back and pass behind that offensive line...you wouldn't be very good at football either. Sam Bradford would be wise to carry a clipboard until they get that line fixed and let Kyle Boller continue to be..well...Kyle Boller. I don't even know if the Bears line is much better than the Rams'. I'd rather sign another Ram...Otogwe...but I've learned that you don't question Lovie and to trust him.

I would really like to see what Martz can do with Hanie.

You think Hanie has some potential?

You can't be fucking serious?

Bulger is so fucking shellshocked from getting his ass kicked weekend and week out behind that shitty line the Rams had, and the Bears line is even worse, the guy should retire while he still has control of his bodily functions.

I would rather have Mike Tomczak back up Cutler.

I don't know if Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Illinois are sponsors of the WBBM 780/Chicago Bears Radio Network, but the Dan LeBatard-looking Marc Bulger hasn't exactly been a picture of good health in recent years. When the Bears played the Rams the day after my birthday last December, Bulger was out for the Rams, and Kyle Boller started in his place. Yes, the same Boller who outkicked his coverage by getting engaged to controversial former Miss California Carrie Prejean...

Back to Bulger, it's not a sure thing he and new offensive coordinator Mike Martz will reunite here in Chicago. NFL sources think he could backup Derek Anderson in Arizona or head for his native Pittsburgh to backup Ben Roethlisberger.
