Game 1: 6:10pm WGN-TV
Silva vs. Bailey

Game 2 12:10pm WGN-TV
Zambrano vs. Harang

Game 3 12:10pm CSN+
Gorzelanny vs. TBD

CBS Sportsline shows Gorzelanny going in game 2 and Z in game three. I'm sure if Harang is pitching though Z will go that day since they've had that day off, so I went with game two here.
Watch out for those noon start times.
I think the Cubs take a little beating in that first game. Cape Canaveral, scuse me, Carlos Silva scares me deeply. I don't know who this TBD cat is but Gorzelanny by the sheer odd figures to be a marginally better pitcher than him. Z has himself a bounceback game too I'd wager.

I'm willing to bet that NSJ has something to say in this thread.

I saw that. He's screwing with you. Everyone knows the Cards, Cubs and Reds are going to the playoffs.

2 out of 3 for the Cub....the Reds can't overcome the loss of Willy Tavares over the off season

Mike Leake IS scheduled to start game 3 VS Gorzellany. Leake still is not on the Reds 40 man roster and had just arrived in Cincy on Thursday, after staying behind in Arizona, even after spring training ended. He was pitching at Arizona State, just last year and was the Reds first round selection in the 2009 draft (#8 overall)I'll be very interested in seeing how this kid reacts to his first MLB start. Cincy has some new additions including Orlando Cabrera, to give the Reds a pretty good left side of the infield, to go with Scott Rolen. Joey Votto was all-star caliber last season, before injuries slowed him down. Brandon Phillips is always a pain if he gets on base, so the Cubs have to try to prevent that. When you look at those 4 guys, you have to say, the Reds have a pretty solid infield. I like the Cubs to take 2 0f 3 and return to open at Wrigley a .500 team. It seems like a smart move, that the Cubs inserted Zambrano between Silva and Gorzellany, to try to keep from having 2 pitchers in a row that are likely NOT to go deep in their games (streeing the bullpen). But thats assuming Z doesn't pitch like he did opening day. I'm betting he will do MUCH better in this one and give the bullpen some needed rest.

I like the Reds in Games 1 and 3. I think Harang will lose game 2. Votto hits two home runs over the weekend. One each for Bruce, Gomes and Phillips.

I hate to challenge someone as knowledgeable as "Mister Brand," but Joey Votto is a first baseman and has never played a single game at catcher in the major leagues.

Zambrano seems to think Silva has turned things around. I read that he said he looked great this spring. We'll see.

Tonights game could be a crapfest on each side. It really depends on how Homer throws. I'm not sure there is anyone on the cubs roster that was there for this game (I believe Marmol had been moved up to AAA by this time in the season), but the AA cubs (diamond jaxx then) through walks and hit after hit after hit ran him after he gave up 9 earned in 1/3 of an inning. I'm sure he will be fine. I'm just grasping for any kind of hope knowing that silva and shark will spot them at least 2 touchdowns tonight.

Joey wasn't hurt last year, he was getting his head right and dealing with some personal issues I believe.

Bailey did finish last season very good so maybe we'll see him ready to settle in as a starting pitcher.

Wow. Silva is getting $25 million in the next two years. As Johnny would say, "I did not know that".

Cubs are starting this series off the way I like.
Love high pitch counts in the first game.
3 1/3rd for the Reds starter bailey and he's thrown 78 so far.

Sweet, All I was able to see before I had to leave was the leadoff triple by stubbs. I hope Silva keeps the pitch count down because I don't need to see the shark tonight.
