Just heard Wade on Espn radio. He basically said that while he loves Chicago and his family iis n Chicago, it may not be the right fit. He equated to finding out the girl you've had a crush on for years likes you but you realize it's not a good fit.

He said Miami was in the driver's seat and that it was their opportunity to lose.

hmm.

Strangely enough, he's probably right - he's not the best fit of the potential FAs for the Bulls. The Bulls would be better off getting a Bosh/PF type and going cheaper at SG and getting a 6-6 pure shooting SG like Mike Miller who can spot up when Rose penetrates and kick.

Others who might fit well with Rose in a backcourt:
Ray Allen
Peja Stojakovic
Raja Bell

I also don't think he's going to leave Miami. I think Miami adds Stodemeire, the Bulls add Bosh, the Cavs keep LeBron and the Nicks get Joe Johnson and Boozer.

There's one other very intriguing possibility if the Wiz find a way to dump his deal and that's Agent Zero.

Well I doubt he is going to say he wants to leave for Chicago right before the playoffs start. That would be a pretty huge distraction for a team.

I think Miami + Stoudamire is a better situation than Chicago + Wade, for Wade.

Plus...its Miami.

Im not saying he's coming here, or that I want him to come here. I just don't think he would say he wants to leave for any other team right before the playoffs start. It wouldn't make any sense to do that.

Of course not, but that's not the point.

The point is that he could have said nothing, but instead chose to talk about a not so good fit.

If the Bulls add anybody that can consistently knock down a jumper, they will be a huge threat next year in the East. Right now the only guy they have is Kirk, and he is terribly inconsistent. I would feel the same way about Arenas. That guy loves jacking up shots, and only knocks down about 35-40% of them. If they wanted those type of numbers, they could have just kept Salmons. Wade wouldn't be a terrible option, or Joe Johnson. The Bulls do need some help inside as I think Taj is much more suited to be coming off the bench, than starting. Obviously that is where Bosh would come in. I would go with Bosh, and then sign someone like Ray Allen at hopefully the mid-level expection. I don't know if that could happen though.

I like the idea of Raja Bells' grittiness, but i don't recall him being a great shooter... he may have improved?

Did they ask him about any other teams besides staying in Miami or going to Chicago? If so, anything besides vanilla?

Nope just :

Chicago - After agreeing that his family and friends would love him in Chicago. "I love Chicago, but it's like dating a girl you have had a crush on. Sometimes it's just not the right fit."

Miami - "It's Miami's deal to lose".

What free agent is going to give Chicago any preference with the 3 stooges running things over at the UC.

The ones who like money...

There are only a few teams that can offer a max contract. The Bulls are one of them. They will get someone...

Nearly every NBA franchise have idiots running them. Pax has a long way to go to reach the bottom.

as long as chris wallace is around he's pretty safe. losing kevin mchale from the GM ranks hurts though.

But if you're a big name and you're looking at the same $'s in Chicago or another city or you're able to make even more(is that still true?) by staying with your current team...the list of reasons for avoiding Chicago got a lot longer this last week.

i think you could make an argument that mchale was actually worse than isaiah.....the joe smith deal cost them 3 draft picks which while they wouldn't have been lottery picks, would still have helped bring in fresh blood. he signed mark blount to a full mid level deal. he traded sam cassell while he was still semi-decent for marko jaric. not sure if this says more about donnie walsh but at least the knicks have done a fairly good job of cleaning up zeke's mess. I mean they're in position to offer some max deals in the big FA class, that's a pretty good position for them to be in; they might not get anyone but they managed to get rid of quite a few terrible contracts

in other words, miami is a hell of a lot more fun and going to chicago would be more like moving back home with mom and dad.. he has his entire retirement to do that.
