Should not play for a major league team again. Jumping Jesus on a pogo stick, was this ever a dumb move by Hendry in the first place. We replaced DeRosa with him, and then had to attach him to Jake Fox to be rid of him. Dumb, dumb, dumb.

When you look at his batting average from 2 years ago with the Cardinals, you see he batted over .300 yet the Cards let him go. That tells you that the line "Figures lie and liars figure" is true. This guy is the classic slap hitter, with no pop at all. Hendry made a HUGE mistake in signing him and Bradley. Both were mistakes I will not soon forget.

Slap-hitting in and of itself is okay; that's why we have Theriot. Miles wasn't a slap hitter here. He wasn't an anything hitter.

And yeah, saying "we need a left-handed right fielder" and signing a right-handed designated hitter was all-time dumb too, without even taking into account that it was batshit loon Milton Bradley.

Holy crap, I just checked out his stats for 2009 with the Cubs. I forgot he was that bad.

74 G
170 PA
.185 BA
.224 OBP
.242 SLG
.466 OPS
20 OPS+

That put him dead last out of any player in the NL with at least 100 PA's.

And out of 51 NL Pitchers with >50 PA's, he had a worse OPS+ than 15 of them.
