Wind blowing straight in should make for an interesting game this afternoon. Hopefully they can get some runs early but am a bit worried the Astros might take this game.

Wandy has emerged as one of the better lefties in the League.. actually reminds me a bit of Lily.

The Cubs have to take 2 of 3 from Houston. They are stunningly bad at baseball.

According to Len and Bob the Soriano bunny hop is officially retired. Now if he will just get a normal sized bat and stop bailing out with the front foot. One thing at a time I guess.

I actually think the heavy bat helps him. At least it did with the Rangers, and right after his time in Texas. :D He frustrates me a great deal, but I have not given up on him.

The hop will be back after a week of fielding that's even worse than before, most of which will be intentional so Soriano can prove he needs to have it back.

Another nice job of managing by Lou. Ended up in a game situation with probably the worst hitter on the team a bat and he can't pinch hit for him cause he's the only catcher left. Nice.....

God, I hate Chicago baseball.

Not when you only score 2 runs. If you can't score more than 2 runs by the time a game goes to extras, the bullpen isn't to blame.

they squandered scoring chances. i can't put this totally on the bullpen but it would've been nice to just get the 6 outs and get the hell out of there with a series win.

instead we lost a series to the worst team in the national league. hooray.

Thats usually true, but the Cards and Mets were in a scoreless tie at the start of inning number 19 yesterday! (Mets went on to win 2-1 in the 20th)

Right, and the bullpen wasn't to blame in that game...

...Joe Mather was...

that was a goofy game for sure.
But really, if you lost 3-2 in extras it's not the bullpen. The cubs offense has given the Bullpen a worse name than it deserves.

No. With the exception of an OF position, the Cubs are better at every position.

So now Byrd is battling 1st against lefties with the riot going to 8th? Its only a matter of time before more panic induces a call to Tennessee to bring up Castro.
