I had the same thought on Saturday, and immediately felt like a hypocrite. I hated when the Knicks and Pistons did that shit to the Bulls. Just play basketball.

Playing more physical basketball will only go so far...These Cavs are a team on a mission and I think it gets even uglier than Craig Sager's sportcoat as Cleveland takes a 2-0 series lead with a complete beatdown of our Bulls tonight...

Sometime during this series if feel like miller is going to pop somebody. Old man is going to have words for Noah after a game and Noah will say fuck that old man but do nothing other than get a T for jawing at him on the court the next game, but miller will get run over 1 too many times while getting called for a foul and will snap, probably on andy V.

Finally! A Bulls game thread title I can actually read...

I loved the physical play of the 80s and 90s. I don't mind seein a star get put on his ass to try and slow him down a bit. But LeBron is bigger and stronger than anyone on the Bulls roster. I don't see anyone roughing him up. That's like asking a kicker to play left takle against a prime Dwight Freeny

THIS GAME IS AWESOME! this is a gear the bulls havent shown all year. theyve played this hard, but not this loose and still good. lebron is getting frustrated, and history shows when the bulls can do that to their opponent good things happen for them. luol deng is playing CRUCIAL in this game, he is soaking up minutes against lebron where nobody else can.

If 18 points and 5 assists is playing frustrated I would take it.

well lebron james for 3 pretty much sums up this game. btw, why does lebron gotta play the game like a doucebag? he showboats more then he produces, and thats saying a lot.

Bulls won't win any games when Lebron is playing like that.

Don't blame it on Rose that you were stupid enough to pick the Bulls in 6.

yes. i was pretty shocked. i thought for certain after lebron blocked his shit that one play, it was over and to me that was a nice summary of deng's play...but then to have him go coast to coast on the next play and throw it down, i almost fell out of my seat.

and totally agree with JasonB's summary above...well said. i think the Bulls did all you could have asked...they played lebron as well as they could (yes i'm aware he had 40)..they took away the drive like you should and forced him to hit outside shots. he hit them. there's nothing else you can do at that point. he was draining contested 3's w/ the shot clock running down, fade away 20 footers with a hand in his face. jamario freaking moon was on fire. at that point you just say ok- we're done. there's no way to defend that. you made them work for it, made them hit tough shots. their role players hit big shots. it's the kind of loss i can at least stomach. they gave it their best and obviously it's not good enough, but we knew that already. they hung in and gave themselves a shot.

yeah i think it's just illustrating that *this* is the best you've got with this team. they'll play hard and they may come up with some competitive play--but they're not winners yet. they're not there.

this is really the same team year in and year out. rose really needs help.

Your analysis is spot on. The reason they stayed in this game last night was because of Deng's play. Finally he stepped up and played a pretty solid game. He wasn't settling for the 20 footer like he has been in the past couple weeks. That coast to coast jam was completely shocking to me also. Where has that kind of play been his whole career?

I said before the series began that an important part of this matchup would be how well Kirk shot the ball, and he has shot like dogshit these first two games. Flip Murray stepped up and had a great first half, but just vanished in the 2nd half. Someone on this team needs to knock down some jumpers, but Kirk and Flip are just way too inconsistent. Kirk played great the last week of the season, but he has gone back to his old self.

This may have been one of the best games I have ever seen Joakim Noah play. He put in a new career high, and his hustle was the main reason the Bulls were able to stay in this game.

As for Lebron, there is just nothing you can do to stop that. He caught fire in the 4th quarter and was defended almost perfectly. Now I know how other cities felt when Jordan would do that shit to other teams in the playoffs. Just a completely dominating performance on the offensive end.

yeah i was thinking that last night too. now i know how it feels to be every single team that jordan absolutely embarrassed in his career.

it was nice to see deng not let lebron just walk all over him though. he called for the ball. he drove to the basket. he played with heart. where is this every game? he could be an all star if he played with that much intensity all the time

Good effort, great performance from Joakim.

You have Flip Murray jacking up threes in crunch time, clearly this team needs a guy that can make a big 3, get his own shot in crunch time... kinda like that guy... Ben Gordon

Bulls' fans know what greatness looked like back in the '80s and '90s with Michael Jordan. Right now, the Cavaliers have that with LeBron James, and what he did last night was "Jordan-esque". No matter who head coach Vinny Del Negro tried to defend LeBron with, it didn't work. In fact, the highlight of James Johnson's rookie season may have been getting dunked on big time by LeBron. As Dan Patrick might say, "You can't stop LeBron, you can only hope to contain him." If the Bulls don't find someone who can contain Cleveland's #23 in Game 3 Thursday night at United Center, this series ends Sunday.

jordan is still better then lebron though. not at any given moment.. i mean lebron is a freak of nature... but mike's approach to the game completely outclasses lebron's bullshit attitude. and is the reason mike rests with 6 rings and lebron will be lucky to get 1.

bill simmons has a great summary of why nobody will ever touch jordan as the #1 player of all time in his 90000 page book. he specifically mentions lebron and why he will never touch jordan greatness
