Been to 3 games so far this year and every game Soriano is taking extra BP. Even doing it after the other team has finished BP he goes out for extra extra, then back to the cage, then back out to the field.

Additionally, I see him working on fly balls

While this is all great BUT YOU JUST FINISHED 6 WEEKS OF SPRING TRAINING !!!!!!! WTF DID YOU DO!

So now we are mad at guys for putting in extra work?

Why don't you just say that no matter what Soriano does ever, you will never like him and just forget about it?

It seems like he is leaning over the plate in a more pronounced crouch this season. Right now at .289,it looks like he is at least doing something!! If he even became a singles hitter with a BA around 300 & OBP around 350,that would be SOMETHING! Not enough though to put up with butchering balls in LF though.

No matter what Soriano does, I will never like him.

He is a losing ball player IMO.

He actually looked decent the last 2 games at the plate. Its not the hits, but his approach. He looked balanced as opposed to earlier this year when he was pulling his front foot and bailing out trying to pull everything. The not running hard and being afraid of hitting the wall is inexcusable, but it could be far worse. He could show up and play and collect his check and tell everyone to go fuck themselves. While he may still be bad at least he is making an honest effort to get better which is ALOT more than most major league players would do.

+1 Trust me I think Soriano is a liability but at this point he could single handedly save a busload of orphans from a runaway Amtrak train and people would be douchebagging him.

Would he do that fruity hop before he did it, though?

+ 1/2 :P It's the lack of effort displayed by this overpaid stroke during games that makes me not want to support him - if he helps us, I'll be happy. We're stuck with him, so I obviously don't want Soriano to fail...

I think his hitting can be fixed and he is proving it. Shortening his swing can procude regualr doubles and singles, and if he is patient it may result in a dead fast ball that he can crush.

I ma happy he is putting in the "EXTRA WORK" but EXTRA WORK should have been done in Feb and March, when you are in a place just to work, thgus not requiring any EXTRA WORK

He put in the extra work with Washington so he could get that big contract :P

Come on, Frank, any musician knows it's "practice makes permanent" or "perfect practice makes perfect," depending on your instructor.

He's made a BIG EFFORT in today's game so far, showing a bunch of speed and good baserunning.

MVP!

lol

The guy is putting in his work, imagine how good this guy could be if he worked hard all the time.

I really do think when he slows it down and just works on contact the big hits do come with him because he has the big bat and a quick hands.

Now, if he can just stay in this type of patient zone and takes balls the others way, etc , maybe we then give Rudy Marinelli some credit

One F'n game. Let's have a parade!

This is another thing that pisses me off about him. If he came out and played / hustled every day, then maybe we could live with some of his gaffs. He doesn't. He plays lazy. He does not stay focused.

it was nice to see him going with pitches and hitting the triple and the single to right center. if only he would figure out that doing that regularly would make him so much tougher to get out
