Waddle just ripped the Bears draft on NFL Network. This Bears draft will grade out at a C or D.

When are you going to admit that you have watched practically no Central Michigan football?

Why would anyone admit to watching Central Michigan football anyway?

What the fuck is your problem? Seriously. How the fuck do you know what I watch?
I have seen Lefevour play more High School & College games that most people have seen of most draft picks.

Notice how that isn't an answer.

First, let's assume that you were religious in your watching of Lisle high school football. You attended every game. Kept notes on the QB. This is ridiculous, but I'll play along. After all that, you were watching a 2-star QB that was honorable mention all state in a state that is not renowned for producing top flight talent. His high school ability certainly doesn't match up to any of the top draft picks amongst QBs in this draft.

Then he went to Central Michigan. Here's Central Michigan's football schedule over the past three years

9-1-07 at Kansas LOST 7-52
9-8-07 TOLEDO WON 52-31
9-15-07 at Purdue LOST 22-45
9-22-07 NORTH DAKOTA STATE LOST 14-44
9-29-07 NORTHERN ILLINOIS WON 35-10
10-6-07 at Ball State WON 58-38
10-13-07 ARMY WON 47-23
10-20-07 at Clemson LOST 14-70
10-27-07 at Kent State WON 41-32
11-6-07 at Western Michigan (Tue.) WON 34-31
11-16-07 EASTERN MICHIGAN (Fri.) LOST 45-48
11-23-07 at Akron (Fri.) WON 35-32

vs. Miami OH @Detroit, MI WON 35-10
12-26-07 Purdue LOST 48-51

8-28-08 EASTERN ILLINOIS (Thur.) WON 31-12
9-6-08 at Georgia LOST 17-56
9-13-08 at Ohio WON 31-28
9-20-08 at Purdue LOST 25-32
9-27-08 BUFFALO WON 27-25
10-11-08 TEMPLE WON 24-14
10-18-08 WESTERN MICHIGAN WON 38-28
10-25-08 at Toledo WON 24-23
11-1-08 at Indiana WON 37-34
11-12-08 at Northern Illinois (Wed.) WON 33-30 (OT)
11-19-08 BALL STATE (Wed.) LOST 24-31
11-28-08 at Eastern Michigan (Fri.) LOST 52-56

12-26-08 Florida Atlantic LOST 21-24
9-5-09 at Arizona LOST 6-19
9-12-09 at Michigan State WON 29-27

9-19-09 ALCORN STATE WON 48-0
9-26-09 AKRON WON 48-21
10-3-09 at Buffalo WON 20-13
10-10-09 EASTERN MICHIGAN WON 56-8
10-17-09 at Western Michigan WON 34-23
10-24-09 at Bowling Green WON 24-10
10-31-09 at Boston College LOST 10-31
11-11-09 TOLEDO (Wed.) WON 56-28
11-18-09 at Ball State (Wed.) WON 35-3
11-27-09 NORTHERN ILLINOIS (Fri.) WON 45-31
12-4-09 vs. Ohio (Fri.) WON 20-10
1-6-10 Troy WON 44-41 (2OT)

I bolded the games you could have possibly seen, if you had a specifically Central Michigan-centric viewing pattern, which you obviously didn't. A great number of games weren't televised in Chicago, so I'm being very generous here. A few of those games were just atrocious; they scored 6 against Arizona, 10 against Boston College, 14 against Clemson, 7 against Kansas, 17 against Georgia, lost in a bowl against Florida Atlantic, etc. He put up some big numbers against MAC competition, but, once again, you didn't see most (or any) of those games.

So let's assume that you weren't religious about watching Central Michigan. I'll guess you watched somewhere between 5 and 10 games (being generous), and some of those were kind of bad. After accumulating that evidence (a small subset of the evidence that people who actually watch this stuff for a living accumulate), you came to the conclusion that he is the 3rd best QB in the draft ... better than Clausen or McCoy.

It gets better! After all that, after claiming he's the third best QB in the draft on the basis of practically no first hand evidence, you complained about the Bears picking him in the 6th round. So, you think he is better than QBs that went in the 1st or 2nd rounds, you think he is the third best QB in the draft (which usually would mean he would go in the 1st or second round), but you don't like the pick, even though the Bears have no real backup quarterback. I'm going to repeat all of that just to highlight the ridiculousness of it: you think that the Bears got the third best QB in the draft in the 6th round, and you think that was a stupid move. Those are completely contradictory opinions.

The point of all this isn't that LeFevour is going to be awful. I mean, he probably will, but most late round QBs are, and those are just the odds. The point isn't even that the QBs in front of him will do better. The point is that you are completely willing to throw shit against the wall on the basis of practically zero evidence, and that you aren't even consistent in your completely evidenceless opinions. I can smell your bullshit from a mile away.

Why so much attention to a guy that you hope never sees the field (assuming you want the bears to be successful)? Best case scenario is that he develops, never plays except for garbage time or pre season and you trade him a few years down the road for a higher pick than you took him with.

I'm not sure who you were looking at from "Lisle High School". Dan Fefevour attended Benet Academy. Your player thoughts & insight are no better or no worse than anyone else on this board. No one knows for sure who the hell will be good or bad. It's sports...it's supposed to be fun. Some guys you like, other guys you don't. No big deal. Don't make rocket surgery ot of it.
There are a lot of people who think both you & I are nuts for liking Tebow.

Once again, you're missing the point. You have no basis for liking Dan Lefevour. You still haven't said how many games you've seen him in. You're just throwing shit against the wall, in that fashion you've perfected.

I never said your opinion was "wrong". I said you are bloviating about a player that you have seen only a couple of times, if even that, and then you aren't even willing to follow that opinion through if it contradicts your hatred of Bears management.

All good streaks come to an end. Some people just take themselves & sports way too seriously.

Hey dopes, where did I say he played for "Lisle High School"? I said "Lisle high school football" (notice the lack of capitalization), meaning that he played football in Lisle. What part of that is inaccurate? Is Rivals or the Benet website lying to me? Once again, good captain, reading is a skill.

Central Michigan quarterback Dan LeFevour, who refused to throw at the combine because he wasn't familiar with the receivers. Ouch, guys.

W-Z,
You gotta get the entire story, not just part of it.
Texas' Colt McCoy, Oklahoma's Sam Bradford and Florida's Tim Tebow also elected to not throw to receivers at the combine, preferring to wait until their Pro Days to showcase their passing skills to receivers.

i didn't write that. i got it from yahoo. that's why i put it in "quote". i think it's funny when people write stuff when they don't do any homework on the team.

No homework is necessary on any team regarding this story, only the combine itself.
Jimmy Clausen did throw to receivers at the combine & that certainly didnt help his draft position, although I think he went right where he should have gone. Actually, Clausen will be benefit from not being a first round draft pick of a doormat like the Browns. At least in Carolina he will have a better chance to succeed with a team that isn't looking for him to save the franchise & be the second coming. The Panthers like to run the ball so they wont be so dependent on Clausen to throw the ball.

The Panthers like to run the ball so they wont be so dependent on Clausen to throw the ball.

the quote was only about the draft itself, not the combine. they were targeting the bears as being part of the "worst" as far as what they did in the draft because the obvious position is that they spent all this money and their own draft picks on a quarterback just to take another quarterback. they are giving the bears a bad grade, and what i'm saying is that they're only touching on a very limited perspective.

Its a god damn late round pick. You drafted a guy higher last year that jumped out of a fucking pool way earlier than this.

Like I said earlier, as much as I like Lefevour, I just cant understand how the Bears arrive at the decision to draft a backup QB when they have bigger needs at other positions. God forbid Cutler struggles again next season because the "start Lefevour" calls will start rolling into the Score.
The Cory Wooten pick from Northwestern is risky because of his serious knee injury.

well that's why they got the bad grade from yahoo. that was their whole point. why out of all the picks you could have taken would you take a backup quarterback? i can only think that they thought...it'd be a steal? i don't know. i do tend to go with the mac way of thinking that you can't grade a draft until 3 years later or so. but they had some needs to address and they missed the boat.

i like what the seahawks did, too, actually. i even like what my saints did. it puts some pressure on sharper.

Hey smart guy, I've seen more Benet Academy football games than you've taken drunken cab rides with women and I'm going to tell you something right now -

If the Packers defense is anything like what Montini Catholic throws at you, then the Bears have gotten themselves something special.
