78 pitches, dealing, and of course..... lou yanks him for grabow.... and not because of any imposed pitch count, but because he thinks with geo on 1st its better to go with the odds of having a hitter advance the runner.

well. long story short:

duffy had some great contacts, including ben affleck who loved the script of "boondock saints". got it to harvey weinstein, arguably the most powerful guy in hollywood. duffy had it all. he was an unknown and he was not only given permission with the green light, he was also given the power to direct it himself, *and* to use his own band as the music.

what did he do? he dictated things, abused what he had with weinstein, and sold everybody out including himself. he wanted to call all the shots. basically it'd be like your guy shark telling lou what to do, and when he'd be used.

he lost everything.

what did he do in retaliation? play to the sheep that still bought into his BS and got the money to put up "all saints day". is it a good movie? i've heard it's good, i've heard it's bad. i don't know. i just have no interest in this guy or his stuff anymore.

he's a classless jerkoff. he has had no reflection in his own demise and smugness. so for that, i just say...eff you, pal.

meanwhile...here comes grabow??? game over.

Interesting stuff. I dig the 2 movies, and know nothing else about the situation. Sounds like Duffy was like that producer friend guy in enterouge. and FUCK grabow at least shark is gone

yeah, exactly like the producer in "entourage". i'm not that into the show but there are some really close parallels to how things work there.

i don't like grabow at all...but i guess they don't want to bring z in until the 8th.

lee is starting to make a me little on edge lately.

I don't watch it much either but it seemed like a close parallel. Fuck grabow, nice call lou. Your pinch hitter didnt do shit and now he lets up a lead off hit.

If soto and soriano hit thus team is decent, I think. Depending on the bullpen, maybe not. Nevermind.

wow, so this has worked in the most back asswards way possible. he pitches, then is the best pinch hitter and actually does the job of a pinch hitter. too weird to believe.

marlon byrd has been the best cubs hitter this year. and i like the way he plays hard and never dogs it. jim hendry with a nice signing? and theriot has been on fire after a slow start. when he doesnt try to do too much hes a great hitter.

the cubs starting pitcher has seriously been stellar this season. if this team had a bullpen and a consistent offense they would be ahead of the cardinals for the top spot right now

Not really. It worked out OK last night, but you could see that Pinella was upset once the Cubs loaded the bases and he saw the pitchers (Z's) spot coming up. Z can hit a little bit, so it worked out w/ a sac fly. HOWEVER...now having Z in a relief role actually limits his pinch hitting opportunities. When he was a starter...he was available 4 out of 5 games....now you cant use him to take an at bat in say the 4th, 5th or 6th innning, because you may need him to pitch in relief.

I'm not saying this is a big deal...it is just part of him being a relief pitcher.

Looks like ol Darko was right again. AGAIN man! That's a running theme by the way.

Very true. It just worked out last night. At least if he is pitching well and his spot comes up lou won't automatically pinch hit for him. That pisses me off to no end when he pulls someone for a PH and then the PH does nothing and the next pitcher in gives it up.

Theriot is on one of his right center tears.

Itd be nice if he , Sorry, Lee or Ramirez had one of their streaks in the playoffs. Better pitching then, I suppose.

I can't believe they could sweep. I thought for sure they would get swept.

Nah, I figured they'd do okay. They generally do against the Brewers and their utter lack of pitching. Even when they lose they generally put up a respectable fight.

EDIT: Look at that, 6 runs over 2.1 on Dave Bush. Bad.

Had a feeling the Cub bats would get well this weekend, with facing bad pitching, and being indoors. Hopefully it carries over this week against the Nats and D-Backs. Hopefully we miss Haren, then it should be a good week.

Rough day at the office for Mr. Bush. Nine runs over four. Do they have a bullpen to save or something?

always nice to sweep the brewers. the cubs seem to just play well in milwaukee every year.

theriot continues his red hot streak. colvin killing the ball. fukudome having another typical fantastic april. too bad it wont last. ramirez hit the ball hard but still cant get shit done.

now they will lose 2 of 3 against the nats

I just got home from the game. Woke up around 1030 today and just had the itch to go. 20 dollar Stubhub tickets in the 400 level and off the g/f and I went

My first time up at Miller Park and I must say that place is superior to Wrigley in every way imaginable other than the being in Milwaukee detail. Seriously, gut Wrigley. Keep the field the same but change everything. Damn that's an enjoyable place to watch a game.

Ramirez smoked the ball today. Even his outs were hit really hard. I think he's close to having a monster breakout type game for the season
