I noticed they finally purged Murph from the WSCR website. I guess his contract finally ran out? Wonder if he'll turn up anywhere?? I know many people couldn't stand him, but to bad SCR couldn't find a niche for him on weekends.

He could get Jim Laski's role on WGN. I bet he'd do just as well ratings wise.

I'd rather hear Murph at night than LoHo.

Murph should do well, no matter where he goes. Best of luck to him

Why does it have to be one or the other? I'd rather hear someone good at night, but that's just me...

I'd listen to Murph if he was on WGN. Right now about the only time I listen to WGN is late on Sat and Sun. nights with Nick DiGilio on my way home from work.

I hear Jim Memelo and George Ofman from time to time and yes, I'll even switch to the Cubs game if the Sox are just a pile of suck (which is the case now of course).

It's too bad that he's gone, have to imagine that a PD with at least half a brain cell would have figured out a way to (at least) use him for the remainder of his contract.

I'm not a big Cubs fan, or Murph guy, but did enjoy the consistency/dependability of hearing his show on The Score.

And that's what I don't get - clearly the guy got ok numbers, and had a strong fanbase, but a guy like Larry is chosen "in place" of him? I just don't get it, while I know some think he's ok (in certain situations), I really can't imagine that he has anywhere near the amount of fanbase that Murph did/does.

But, much like the local TV stations are doing - I'm sure the PD sees Larry as his link to the young demo. Sure he's young, it's just too bad he sucks.

I picked on him because he sucked.

I'll never understand for the life of me, Newper, why WGN 720 hired a CONVICTED FELON in the former City Clerk on nights there's no Cubs and/or Blackhawks' game!

The reason is simple: Rosen was Holmes agent - and Murph is "old Score" - meaning not invented here. The relationship between the two makes you wonder if Rosen is getting a kickback from Holmes in some way.

Murph should do color on Cubs radio.

I'd rather hear public service announcements for the emergency alert system.

I'm surprised Murph has not popped up somewhere. It's his primetime right now, baseball season.

If by that you mean every show was exactly the same, I agree. WHY IS SORIANO STILL LEADING OFF????????

I think the fact that no one else wants to work with Murph might have something to do with it.
