Alert: 4 game series, one "nooner"!

Game 1: Thursday 1:20p WGN
Lilly (1-0 0.00 ERA) vs. Ian Kennedy (0-1 4.43 ERA)

Game 2: Friday 1:20p CSN
Wells (2-0 2.49 ERA) vs. Rodrigo Lopez (1-0 4.88 ERA)

Game 3: Saturday 12:05p WGN
Silva (2-0 1.73 ERA) vs. Dan Haren (3-1 4.50 ERA)

Game 4: Sunday 1:20p WGN
Gorzelanny (0-3 2.45) vs. Edwin Jackson (1-2 6.67 ERA)

The D'backs are throwing four righties at the Cubs. Ian Kennedy hasn't made it past the 5th in any starts this year, until his last start, where he pitched 8 against a tough Philly team. Lopez got torched in his last outing against the Phillies, allowing 6 ER in 6 innings. Haren has been servicable, and his last start was his best yet of the year. Jackson allowed 10 runs on 11 hits in 2.1 innings in his last start.

The D'backs are still probably a better team than the Cubs, who make a lot of fundamental mistakes. They're probably going to split the series. Gorzelanny might just get a win, since he's been pitching well enough to get wins but he's the only starter without one.

I heard there are going to be protestors at this game beacuse of that immigration law in AZ. I mean c'mon. Like the ballplayers have anything to do with that?

The team owner is a big supporter of the bill...

Also, a lot of Arizonans will be watching and cubs = national exposure.

Is that true?

Even if he agreed with the bill, from a business standpoint it would be really stupid to offer any type of opinion on it. I would be willing to bet that illegal immigrants attend Diamondback games, and I don't think you would want to piss off a piece of your fan base.

It would be like the Cubs saying they don't want black people at Wrigley Field...

And if they put it to a vote I can guarantee you the bill would get overwhelming support.

I have friends who live in southern Arizona. It's easy to talk down on Arizona when the worst we deal with with illegals is for the most part them taking our tax money.

Us telling Arizona how to deal with their problems with this would be like someone in Podunk Nebraska telling us how to deal with gangs and saying they know the problem.

As are most of Arizonans.

I almost laughed when a big time pro illegal wanted to put it to a vote.

Amazing people have a problem with enforcing the law.

Don''t get me wrong. I'm all for singling out people based on race. "Hey, you there. You look like an illegal. Show me some I.D." Nothing wrong with that. Except if you happen to be an hispanic citizen of this country and you constantly have to prove you're a citizen over, and over, and over...

I guess this means I hate cops and babies and love gang members and illegals or whatever crazy ass thought you plan on sharing today...

You like criminals. I don't.

I'm not for this bill. I think a compromise would be if you are arrested you have to prove your citizenship but you have to be doing something else.

If you are stopped for a traffic violation your drivers license proves your citizenship itself.

I actually heard a pro crime person say "What if they don't have a drivers license"

Then they shouldn't be DRIVING!

I agree with you. So why would you assume this:

You may need to settle down a bit and actually read what people type before jumping to conclusions. I have a problem with this law due to the negative impact it would have on CITIZENS OF THIS COUNTRY. Please pay attention...

Its still on the books as illegal to spit on the city streets of Chicago. Do you have a problem with getting jailed for that? It is law after all.

Ivan <3 criminals!

I happen to work with a lot of legal residents.

I got a walk through on what they go through to be here legally and what the right path to citizenship entails.

I hate the idea these people who broke our laws could get put ahead of those that don't follow the laws.

You do have a pointand I said I'm against how reaching this bill goes but the people that protest are against any kind of enforcement of any of our laws.

You're doing it again. You make it difficult for people to have serious conversations or debates with you because you generalize and jump to crazy conclusions quite often.

Take me, for example. I am against the enforcement of this law and would be willing to protest it. But that doesn't mean I am against every law and love criminals. You can't be so extreme on everything...

Was that a Sox fan that turned this thread inside out? Nicely done sir.

I'm going with a Cubs/D-backs split. Lou will flip out in the dugout at least once during this series due to lack of clutch hitting.

Really? Either you are incredibly stupid or incredibly exagerrating. "Any" of our laws? Do you see people protesting those pesky rape or kidnapping laws we have on the books?

I vaguely remember that he was mentioned in the Javier Vazquez/Tyler Flowers trade possibilities. Of course the White Sox took Brent Lillibridge.. :puker:

So Ron just drops this gem:

Pat mentioned that Laroche stands erect at the plate to which Ron replies, "usually when someone is erect they tend to lunge at balls"

Priceless.
