Bulls coach Vinny Del Negro met with chairman Jerry Reinsdorf on Sunday, but he won't be keeping his job.

Del Negro will be fired on Tuesday, with one season and $2 million remaining on his guaranteed three-year contract, according to the Chicago Tribune.

The whole meeting was probably Reinsdorf telling him to keep his mouth shut about the bizarre organization or he would not be paid.

He could take a buy-out, but that would be incredibly stupid for Vinny to do. He's got all the leverage and can make a media shit-storm if Reinsdorf doesn't want to pay out all that is owed on Vinny's deal.

I think that incident involving Vinny & V.P. of Operations John Paxson back on March 30th, and all the legal issues stemming from it delayed the obvious news since LeBron James and the Cavaliers put the Bulls to bed a week ago in that 5-game NBA Playoff mismatch.

However, 670 The SCORE's Jason Goff mentioned this topic following Uncle Jerry's other team, the White Sox got smoked by the World Champs in the Bronx yesterday. Goff seems underwhelmed with retreads supposedly available. The Donald Trump-looking Mike Fratello & currently with Turner/TNT Sports, ex-Bucks, Lakers & Clippers' head coach Mike Dunleavy were 2 of the names mentioned, along with current ESPN/ABC Sports' guys such as Byron Scott, Avery Johnson & Jeff Van Gundy. Jeff' doesn't appear that interested in leaving Mark Jackson & Mike Breen behind as ESPN/ABC's #1 NBA team, especially after what happened to Jeff the last time he coached in Houston. Avery's still earning $$$$ from his former boss, Mavericks' owner Mark Cuban, NOT to coach...I'm not so sure Uncle Jerry wants to spend big money again to hire a new head coach once he sends VDN on his way out of Chicago.

Mike Dunlevey?!? Please God no.

I would rather have Vinny back over Dunlevey.

This is one thing that I absolutely hate about sports radio talk. It sounds to me that we're attributing something to Goff when in fact he's just spitting out what he heard on national tv. Why even bring Goff in the equation. He may have "said" so, but what difference does it make. Unless, Goff spoke to his agent, friends, or associates and has something new to bring to the discussion, he shouldn't be quoted. True, he said it, but who cares? He's blindly repeating something that anyone of us did (or could have) heard.

CBS 2 is reporting VDN is fired. I have not heard if they are going to ask spmack and I for our opinion.

They were great to him. They gave him a head coaching job (when he had never coached in his life) when no other team in the NBA would possibly be that stupid. Then they turned around and gave him 40% of the money he made as a player to coach 2 years. Vinny should get on his knees every night and that his God for the Bulls. In fact he should get on his knees every time he sees Uncle Jerry and Paxson.
