That's fine. Still doesn't change the fact that they gave him $6M and an opportunity that no one else would have. It was known to everyone involved that he would be dumped so the Bulls could bring in a real coach in 2010. He got a lot of great experience that will at worst land him a college job and he got $6M for coaching 2 years. Looks like a great deal to me.

I think Vinny made out very well through this. Got some head coaching experience at the highest level, made some good coin, and was a great B -> C guy. Now we just need to find a coach to get us from C -> D. Plus looking at him coaching and picturing that scene from Hoosiers where Shooter was in charge was always a joy. He did get a little bit better this year, but sometimes he just looked like he was Stockdale vs. Gore and Quayle out there. But anyway, I see him getting a position at a college somewhere (some middle of the road place like Colorado.)

First, I'm not a big fan of the R word. But that's fine. I have MANY simple moments on this board. Despite your age and lack of vocabulary, you try to bring it. However, you are the example of why I dislike many Chicago sports fans. But ah, yeah. Keep on, keeping on. I believe Rongey is available for White Sox Post Game calls if you're feeling randy.

If Bulls seek new coach, consider Calipari
by Nick Friedell

If, as expected, Bulls head coach Vinny Del Negro is let go some time early next week there is a name that may pop up on everyone's radar that makes a lot of sense for the organization to at least take a look at.

That name is John Calipari.

There are a lot of reasons why the current University of Kentucky head coach would fit well as the new coach of the Bulls. Here are a few of the biggest:

1. He was Derrick Rose's college coach at Memphis.

Obviously, Calipari knows Rose's game inside and out and would tailor the offense to fit the All-Star point guard's needs. It also doesn't hurt that Rose loves him and is comfortable in his system.

2. He is close friends with superstar free agent LeBron James.

Calipari and James have become close friends over the past few years and that friendship could give the Bulls a better chance of landing James. The prospect of playing for Calipari and with Rose in a city that he admittedly loves could be very enticing for the reigning MVP.

3. He has a relationship with Worldwide Wes.

If everything you read is true, there is no more connected person in basketball circles than William "Worldwide" Wesley. For years, Wesley and Calipari have maintained a close relationship, leading to a tremendous pipeline of stars for Calipari's programs. Wesley is a confidant of James and other marquee NBA players. His friendship with James, Calipari and Rose certainly won't hurt when the Bulls start searching for free agents this summer.

4. He is a master recruiter.

Plenty of people have been asking what kind of coach it would take to lure free agents to Chicago. Calipari has been recruiting players for years. He knows what to say and how to say it. He also knows and/or coached against seemingly every big name in the game. If anybody could sell the Bulls to a prospective free agent it would probably be this guy.

If it brings LeBron. Great. If not, stunningly bad.

So they hire the boob, and fire the boob and take no responsibility. Very Pontius Pilate like

what a useless POS KC johnson is...he was on M&H this morning and pretty much every question they asked , he would reply with "sorry i don't really have a good handle on that" or a another similar non-answer. the guy is on there to share his OPINIONS but doesn't really appear to have one! either that or just being a pussy as usual so he can play both sides. 'i better not say i want doug collins to be the coach because then if dwayne casey is hired he'll be mean to me'

then how M&H were slobbering all over him...it was a long season, he never sleeps...wtf? he's not the one that got fired (although he should be)...he's a writer. they're acting like he has the toughest job in the world.

I caught him with Mac/Spiegs yesterday and that mealy-mouthed pussy wouldn't answer a single question directly. Memo to KC: If you're supposedly the city's #1 Bulls reporter and are paid to offer up your inside information and opinions on the radio, learn to stop answering questions like a local neighborhood attorney
