That's the thing though. They have a .544 winning percentage when he's not the ref. They have a .111 winning percentage when he's the ref.

.544 is good but not great but I'd expect the worst playoff team every year to at least be good enough to win 1/10 games.

well yeah, that's the thing about conspiracy theories- they're hard to prove.

i think you'd have to look at a lot of other factors other than just win percentage to draw some kind of conclusion- i'm not going to go through the effort but pull up those box scores. let's see how they shot. what the FT discrepancy was. turnovers. rebounding. just saying there could be a million factors that influence how a team plays. yes i'll admit it's an odd coincidence but until i see a lot more stats showing that say, the opponents shot 30 more FT in every game, I can't really give it much credence. it's easy to look at one stat- in this case wins- but there are a million other factors that go into that win, let's see you break those stats down. again not saying i'm dismissing your theory i just want to see some more in-depth stats

It's probably part personal bias, part style of calling the game, and part matchups/small sample size. If this was true over another 20-50 we might have a little more of a definitive answer. If I was an NBA bettor I'd probably have a lot better answers.

thanks. I'm ok. if you look at my posts i was in no way saying they would win more than 1 game this series. i thought they would win the big game 3 that all losers somehow manage to win at home, then go back to losing the next one

there's a difference between wanting a team to win and thinking they are going to win. obviously i want the Hawks to win. do i think they will? hell no. yeah, it turned out worse than even i thought. if the rest of the series is going to go like this i would have just as soon seen them eliminated by the Bucks.
