That's a good question. I know he's 6'2" but I question whether or not he's really a point guard.

The Hawks may get swept and the Suns should finally get their revenge.

Been a long time coming if that's the case. Considering Nash's defense and the fact that the majority of the Spurs points come from their guards, I dont see it.

If the Spurs win it will be that much easier for the Lakers to reach the Finals. Just like the Nuggets lost made it easier. I believe the Suns or Nuggets could have beaten the Lakers. I don't think the Jazz or Spurs have a chance.

not sure why you don't think the Spurs do. didn't you pick the Mavs in the first round anyway???

even the Jazz were up 3 late yesterday, although i don't give them much of a chance in this series

i don't find the Lakers invincible at all

I picked the Spurs because the Mavs always find a way to choke. The Lakers weren't really playing hard against the Jazz. The Jazz match up very bad against them. The Spurs do as well. They now have no answer for Kobe and it's pick your poison when it comes to Pau and Bynum.

Add Lamar Odom to that list too.

Lakers definitely are not invincable. They are sorta struggling with the Jazz, not putting the game away till about a minute or two left yesterday, with Pau, Bynum, and Odom getting 50 pts and 44 rebs, and Kobe going for 30-8-5. Those are monster numbers to put up between four guys. They have no bench, no PG play, and cant shoot threes consistently. I'm even more certain now than before the playoffs started that they will not win the title. I cant see how they can beat Cleveland/Boston/Orlando, and they would seriously struggle against the Spurs or Suns.

The Cavs and Magic are one thing but they would destroy the Celtics. It would be like playing the Jazz and Spurs. As the president of Kobe's ALS nothing would make me happier than the Lakers playing the Celtics for a title.

This is plain stupid. Boston destroyed the Lakers two years ago to finish them off. That wasnt that long ago. If they beat Cleveland that basically proves them as capable as Cleveland of winning it all.

Different match up. I felt Denver or the Mavs could have beaten the Lakers because of the match up problems. I am confident the Jazz and Spurs won't give them the same problems. The Celtics are the perfect team for the Lakers to play. What happened in the past really doesn't mean anything. The Lakers played without Bynum then and Odom and Gasol were playing like the cowardly lion. The Big 3 have lost more than a step since then too. Being a knowledgeable basketball guy I thought you would understand that match ups can decide a series.

Yeah I do realize that. I also realize the matchups favored the Celtics last time around, and Ray isnt shooting bricks anymore and KG isnt limping around anymore. Pierce did a great job on LeBron and him and Allen can matchup with Kobe. Perkins/KG can handle Bynum/Pau. Meanwhile Rondo will go apeshit on Derek Fisher and Doc will likely outcoach Phil again and that'll be all.

That's fine. I was wrong about pretty much everything this postseason. I have no problem admitting it. Hasnt really stopped me from enjoying it one bit though. Let's find those Rondo threads from 2008.

 We can find the Chris Paul thread too. I only did it because you cherry picked a comment that was 2 weeks old. That being said I would be willing to wager the Lakers would destroy the Celtics this time around.

Well I didnt mean to cherry pick an old comment. This is my first time checking in in awhile. I didnt think Game 6 of the Cavs series and yesterday's game changed your mind.

I'm surprised you'd think the Lakers would destroy them though considering you seemed awfully high on the Magic and they basically got dominated yesterday untill a too little, too late spurt.

Match ups. That is the only reason why.

But the matchups didnt favor LA the first time around. And while LA has Bynum now, two years ago Rondo was so raw the PG spot was almost a push going into the series. Now Rondo is clearly a top 3-5 PG in the NBA. I know you think the Big 3 have lost it. I dont.

That's the difference. I think Rondo is their best player because they have lost a couple steps. Gasol has gotten better too and would absolutely destroy KG now.

so you don't feel that Rondo has gotten better, just that the others have gotten worse?

and gasol is not going to destroy KG

 Sometimes I'm unsure if you grew up a Bulls or Lakers fan. In no way has any indication been given that Gasol is a tougher player now than two years ago. Boston leads the NBA in mental toughness. Noone is destroying KG right now since he looks completely healthy, let alone Gasol.

Gasol is easily the best PF in the NBA now. KG would be able to do nothing with him. Rondo has gotten a lot better but he still can't knock down a jumper. Kobe would guard him and treat him like Tony Parker. Ron Artest would contain Pierce and Fisher would chase Ray Ray around. On one leg Bynum would destroy Perkins and Odom has the edge over a recently motivated Wallace.

as for Rondo not being able to hit a jumper, did you watch any of the Cavs series? he hit plenty

29-18-13 performances are apparently easy to forget/overlook. I'm sure Derek Fisher will have no problem nuetralizing him.

From the few Laker playoff games Ive seen Gasol is playing better than Kobe.

He bailed Mamba out after he missed a game winner against OKC

True but from what I remember Kobe played much better overall that game.

Gasol has had a good postseason but I wouldnt say he's playing better than Kobe. Kobe easily could have put up 55 last night. That might be the easiest I've seen him get 40 in a few years.
