I thought we weren't hiring someone that never had a head coaching job.......so Pax and Forman blow me 8)

There's a better chance of a LeBron signing than Elston Turner being coach.

The Bulls are interviewing Elston Turner, who if I'm correct has as much HEAD COACHING experience as VDN, so why even bring him in?????????

I share your thoughts, Drop In.....but the Bulls upper management really does scare me. The fact that they even mention his name is scary.

Elston Turner? I'm in my mid to late 30s, but I vaguely remember Elston in a Bulls' uniform. That said, he's supposed to be the latest to interview with the Philadelphia 76ers tomorrow, but it's unclear when he'll interview with "GarPax" and Jerry Reinsdorf, if at all...

Houston's at the forefront of using sabermetrics type statistical analysis in the NBA. The guy who wrote Moneyball did an article on them last year, delving into how they use stats in game situations to tip the odds in their favor. e.g., when defending Kobe for a last second game winning shot, how to "give up" parts of the floor where he's weakest and over-defend his stronger shot possibilities. fwiw, it didn't work in the article, Kobe nailed the shot despite Houston getting him to take it from the spot on the floor they wanted him to.

Do they have to interview a minority candidate like the NFL does? If so, they could be doing that although I would have thought they would have intereviewed Scott or A.Johnson.

Avery Johnson has been spouting off about not only not wanting the Bulls job but also he thinks that no decent coach or free agent will sign with Chicago as long as Gar-Pax are in charge.

Actually, Avery Johnson's bummed because he wanted the Bulls' job 2 years ago, but Jerry Reinsdorf wasn't interested in hiring a head coach earning a lot of $$$$. Avery's price tag was a red flag. Besides, TNT Sports' Doug Collins is now said to be pissed that he's not on the Bulls' radar either! What's his problem?

That being said, I'm still very skeptical that Uncle Jerry's going to break the bank for any high-profile veteran head coach. I'm still very intrigued and would love to see the Bulls do whatever they can to lure current Boston Celtics' head coach Glenn "Doc" Rivers & assistant Tom Thibodeau to Chicago. I'm not sure how realistic it really is, but getting Rivers and Thibodeau here would be bold moves by this organization.
