I stated in another thread that WWE Classics On Demand is currently running the old Bobby Heenan show. I'm laughing so hard at this I'm in pain. In the last couple moments of the show, I heard:

"It was a pleasure to have you on, because the guy with the neutered duck was sick."

"Take it all off!" "Show me parts you haven't seen."

Let's rehash our favorite Bobby Heenan moments. I think this has been done before, but hell, let's do it again.

yeah Bobby was great as an announcer or a manager. He knew how to tell the story. Watched it last night after the Hawks made Vancouver there latest bitch. The "e" 's on demand in one of the greatest things the "E" has put out of late, but wasn;t that a shane idea :?: :?: jsut sayen

I believe you are correct about Shane. He was at least in charge of the development.

WWF Prime Time August 1988

Monsoon: Brain, did you know it is Hulk Hogan's Birthday today?
Heenan: I did know that.
Monsoon: Did you get him anything?
Heenan: Of course I did.
Monsoon: What did you get him?
Heenan: I gave him something very personal from my own home. I gave him my old smoke detector.

I loved how he played it out during the NWO invasion.
Always running away or acting like a scared little puppy, cracked me up.

The Brain is great!

"Tito Santana is like a cue-ball. The more you strike him, the more english you get out of him."

Bobby H & Gorilla on Chico Santana:
Bobby H: Did you know Tito holds a place in Guiness' Book of World Records?
Gorilla: Yeah? For what?
Bobby H: He picked 1,600 heads of lettuce in 1/2 an hour.
Gorilla: Will you stop...

Gorilla & Bobby on the Rosatti sisters:
Brain: "I looked it up. You know what Rosatti means in Italian?"
Gorilla: "Sure. It means red, rich, full..."
Brian: Nope...it means lard.

(Bobby on the WWF's 1-900 number)
Gorilla: "Kids, ask your parent's permission before calling."
Brain: "And if they don't give you permission, just take a baseball bat, sneak up behind them, and BAM!!"

I have two favorites:
During a Halloween Havoc in Detroit someone held up a sign that said "Heenan for Mayor". Tony Schivonte said to him, "Hey, Brain what do you think about that." Heenan's reply, "What, take a pay cut and live in a bad neighborhood. No thank you."

When doing a talk about the Hart family Heenan said,"Stu and his wife had three kids....one of each."

Great call on a Heenan thread. It should be stickied to the top of the forum. He is still my #1 of all time. Hands down, don't even have to think about it.

Tony Schiavone: "Pardon me."
Bobby Heenan: "I'm not the governor."

Monsoon: "What?"
Brain: "Tupper."

I too must profess my admiration for Bobby. He cracked me up and is/was one of my favorite people in Pro 'Wrasslin. I go back to the Bob Luce days when Heenan managed the Lanzas & Bruiser & Crusher were his sworn enemies. I remember a classic Wrestling Illustrated cover with Heenan caked with blood, the headline: "My God Bobby, what did they do to your face?" He's the best.

Great call Pasta. One of the all - time classic magazine covers.

Is his health better now, I remember a couple of years ago, that is sounded like he may have a month to live, I know he is still alive. Something with his jaw surgery went wrong was the reason they thought he wouldn't make it. I just hope Heenan is doing better, he is a favorite.

It sounds like Bobby Heenan is in the best health of the last five years. He did an indy show about three months ago.

Hopefully you had and still have that magazine Pasta, it would probably be worth quite a bit. Wrestling collectors are a weird bunch. Here's Bobby from Jan 2010. He can hardly talk and eats through a tube I guess. He had throat cancer and all the radiation destroyed his jaw. They rebuilt it with bone from his hip. It got infected and he was back in the hospital back in the winter. He did the TNA Lockdown fanfest in st. louis in March with Dory, Jr and Baron Von Raschke and I guess they said he was doing well and he did another indy show somewhere recently too. Doing much better now than the in the last few years.

---- XXX -----

To offset that horrendous pic, here's a Heenan with a mustache pic. It so weird and out of place its like Bevington or Wanny not having their staches.

My memories of Jimmy Valiant are of him as the "Boogie Woogie Man", looking like Burl Ives, and coming out to Manhattan Transfer's "Boy From New York City".

Burl Ives. . yeah, I only remember Boogie Woogie too.

Interviewer: "If you were in charge of WCW, what would you have done differently?"

Bobby: "I would have put everybody in one room and rolled a hand grenade in there."

Here is a 2 hour shoot interview he did with RF video maybe 8-10 years ago. Good stuff:

On the Heenan shoot interview there was a link to a Kurt Angle interview as well. This stuff is great.

More bad news for Chas. Angle says that HHH is one of best guys he was ever in the ring with (along with Shawn Michaels) and perhaps the best ring general and mind for the business today.
