Here's a good Hiawatha Park story for you guys. There's a bocce pit there where all the old Italian guys play, sometimes well into the night. I'm sure some of them are real old time wiseguys. Well, they may be murderous old gangsters, but they're also courtly old gentlemen who would never think of pissing in the bushes. So they ordered a port-a-john and had it set up near the bocce court. At the time the nephew of one of my good friends was the park supervisor there. Upon discovering the port-a-john, he had it hauled away since it wasn't Park District property and it really shouldn't have been there. My friend asked his nephew if he was crazy. He told him those wiseguys might make him disappear. A few days later a new port-a-john showed up. This time he left it alone.

If someone wants to coordinate dates I volunteer for food coordinator.

Food we have a couple of options

1. Sign up sheet everyone brings something.

2. We get Portillos or something like that to bring the food in and everyone chips in.


We need people to volunteer to man the grill or take turns.

I can be in charge of coordinating that and if we decide to bring food coordinate lists of a couple of things.

1. Who wants beer and who will go the non alcohol route.

2. Do we have any vegetarians so if there are we can have options for them.

3. Food allergies.
