I saw Big Fan mention this site in one of his posts.

1. Shouldn't you have an actual J Hood show if you have a J Hood show web site?

2. With Facebook and Twitter isn't a talk show host personal web site kind of stupid and obsolete? The only chance you have of people following you is facebook and twitter now a days. Especially for somone who isn't on the air much. He can't get that much traffic and there is nothing interesting on the site. There are hundreds of good sports web sites. Who the hell is gonna go to Jhood.com?

3. I hear Hood do a bad baseball show with Bruce on Saturday (That show is painful and awkward with nothing interesting or insightful) but don't hear much of him at night during the week. Granted, I don't flip on ESPN 1000 every night but when I do I hear JD, Finfer, Haugh and Fred. Or a national show. Fred has taken away some of Hood's air time since he got hired I guess. And it seems Finfer is a rising up the ranks at ESPN 1000.

4. I think Hood's fall from grace at ESPN 1000 came when he quit and went to Pappy's webio. They took him back but don't value him that much. I think him quiting kind of tarnished his status there. How much do you think Hood hates Pappy now?

I'm starting to think you have a little of the Brand in you. Or you just couldn't find a site for older white guys that no longer have a show?

Hood's career mishaps have been well documented. But bringing up the fact that you think he hates North is rather odd. Perhaps he is glad he took a chance and he learned from the experience.

Does it always have to be about an imaginary issue with you Beardown??

Imagination, Agent Seacrest, is what I have instead of a view.

But I don't think it's imagination to think that Hood hates North. He probably always did but just though he had an opportunity. Then David Hernandez got arrested.

I've always been a fan of J Hood, and I think he's really talented. I just wish he had better career instincts or better people advising him. I'd much rather listen to him than LoHo on the Score. I thought his evening show was good, and he did good Sox postgame shows.

I don't know how any black person can not hate North. Don't say Jiggs likes him cuz they're both using each other to hang on to media jobs with that "Monsters" brand that nobody cares about anymore.

North even made Hood use his "Monsters" image by calling his webio show "Mini Monsters".

Pappy - Youse can be a younger Jiggs and Doyle can be a younger me. Don't forget, I invented black and white talk shows.

Hood - That's a great idea Pappy. Yes, media people owe you a debt of gratitude for inventing "white people talking to black people". I hope me and Doyle can do it as well as you and Jiggs. You were pioneers. (Hood never meant this but he was in suck up mode for webio).

I owned JHoodShow.com at one time and asked if he was interested in a website on the score. Sent him 2 maybe 3 emails. Never returned one.

I didnt renew the name and as soon as he could buy it, he , or they, did and opened a website, which I was promptly banned from within 1 day. lol I registered and got booted.

J Hood has had more chances here than most. The guy had a shot at the afternoon slot and was just an asshole to Telander on every turn. Telander even put up with his crap, but of all the rumors I ever heard of who hated who, who didnt like who, Hood didnt need rumors. It was right there in the show.

The guy dug his own grave, TWICE! Once at WSCR, again at ESPN.

Even with all that, the guy does a good job, even better when solo, which is rare.

Great call on the solo show. I feel like it is very hard for the bench to build their game with all solo shots. But Hood has/had a great solo show.

J Hood seems to work very hard at his craft.

It's too bad about the Telander thing. He could have outlasted that guy and still be the king of afternoon drive.

Never had much use for Hood, yes, he did a good job on B/B as a producer, but when he went out of his way to be a asshole to Telenader for the sake of just being one, he lost me. Hood might want to spend less time on playing the victim and and patting himself on the back for a so-so career and work a bit more time on making good choices.

Interesting choice of words.

It's a little simplistic to say he went out of his way to be an asshole just to be one. The man had worked hard at the station for a decade, he built up an on air resume and a following at night and had just been given his big break in the business with a daytime slot. It was his show. Then, all of a sudden, the station hired Telander and made Hood his cabin boy. The Show was named the Rick Telander show. Telander had no experience in hosting, he put no time into the position and was horrible at it...yet it was his show. Then he quit in the middle of a show.

Hood played the situation incorrectly, but the disappointment had to have hurt him deeply.

The SCORE always screws their up and coming black hosts with bad white partners when they finally get their shot at prime time. Hood got Telender and Larry got Hampton. Hamp and Telender never really cared about the radio craft. That being said, I thought Hood and Larry were bad on their own. Still, there is something to the fact that the SCORE gave them both a horrible white partner. Like they were both set up to fail with management having the ability to say "Hey, we gave you a shot" to protect themselves against racism claims. Pretty sneaky. This might happen to Goff too. I hate "The Man".
